Thank You! – April 2024

Shalom from Jerusalem,

On October 7th, the State of Israel rose to one of the most difficult days in the country's history. On this day, the State of Israel entered a state of emergency, and many citizens and soldiers were called into active duty. Since then, the State of Israel has been in a difficult war that has taken a heavy toll; hundreds of active duty and reserve soldiers have been killed, and thousands have been injured.

One of the harsh prices of the war is a large amount of wounded people evacuated from the fighting zones in the south and north. Many of these warriors have lost their hands or legs, some have lost the ability to see or hear, and many others are dealing with severe traumas because of things they experienced, difficult sights they saw, mourning friends or family members they lost and more.

Not long after the start of the war, we as a ministry took part in organizing the distribution of lunches to wounded soldiers and their families in one of the main hospitals in Israel. Hospitals in Israel provide lunch exclusively for the patient and not for the family members who are with them. The cost of buying lunch each day for family who are with their wounded loved one can be prohibitively expensive.

Every morning, we gather lists of the number of wounded soldiers and the number of family members who are with them. We then pass the list to the hotel we have partnered with to prepare the number of meals. The lunches are then personally distributed in the patients' rooms by a team of volunteers that we manage.

Twice a week, Hope for Israel purchases and delivers the lunches for the wounded and their families. This project is very dear to our hearts; being able to see the wounded and their families and occasionally hear the stories of heroism, the traumas, and experiences they went through is not an easy, but it is worthwhile.

Thank you for entrusting your offering to Hope for Israel. Your partnership means a great deal to me, my team, and the many people who are blessed by the ministry’s work. May we continue to be a light and a blessing to the people of Israel during this dark and difficult time.
