Shalom from Jerusalem,
As we step into October, our hearts cannot help but remember. It has now been two years since the dark day of October 7, a day that tore open our nation’s soul and left wounds that remain unhealed. Every family, every community in Israel still carries the scars of that morning.
Now, as conversations intensify about a possible ceasefire that could bring an end to the war in Gaza and return our beloved hostages home, we find ourselves in a place of deep longing. The people of Israel are weary, exhausted from war, from uncertainty, from the endless waiting.
Yet even in this season of pain, we hold fast to the truth that the God of Israel does not slumber or sleep. He has carried us through generations of trial and promised to be our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble.
This is why your prayers are so vital. In this hour, as Israel stands at a crossroads, we ask you to cry out with us, for the release of the hostages, for true peace that cannot be forged by politics alone, and for healing over a nation still in mourning. Together, let us lift our eyes to the One who alone can redeem, restore, and bring lasting hope.
Pray for:
- The urgent release of every hostage in Gaza. Pray with urgency that God will move swiftly to bring each captive home safely and without delay. Ask Him to guard their lives and sustain their spirits, even in the darkest hours. Intercede for Israel’s leaders and negotiators, and that no scheme of the enemy will stand in the way of their return.
- Ceasefire proposal. Prime Minister Netanyahu accepted President Trump’s ceasefire proposal, but Hamas has not yet responded. There is also a chance that some members of Netanyahu’s coalition will refuse to accept it, which could cause the coalition to dissolve. While many people in Israel are hopeful this could end the war, many are also skeptical. We need much wisdom! Please pray for Israel’s leaders as well as a swift end to this war.
- Families celebrating Sukkot in the midst of war. Many will gather under their sukkah with empty seats, missing loved ones serving in the IDF or held in captivity. Pray that God fills their homes with courage and peace, restores joy in their celebrations, and nurtures hope even as the shadow of conflict lingers. Ask for strength and comfort for parents and children alike, as they seek God’s shelter in this season of remembrance and rejoicing.
- IDF soldiers and reservists on every front. Pray for ground forces in Gaza, units confronting Hezbollah in the north, counterterrorism teams in Judea and Samaria, troops monitoring the Syrian border, and those defending Israel against missiles and drones from the Houthis, one of Iran’s proxies. Ask God to shield our soldiers from harm, frustrate the plans of their enemies, and grant them courage, endurance, and supernatural wisdom in battle.
- Protection from the rise in terrorist attacks. In cities, towns, and communities across Israel, pray for God’s hand of protection over civilians in their daily routines. Ask Him to frustrate plots before they unfold, to grant alertness and courage to security forces, and to cover the nation with His shelter of peace, especially during the high holy days.
- Jewish communities worldwide. As antisemitism surges, ask God to surround them with safety and courage. Pray that lies are exposed, that hatred is dismantled, and that world leaders stand firm in defending Israel, upholding justice, and ensuring the security and freedom of Jewish people everywhere.
- Families of the hostages. Pray for those with loved ones still in captivity, for the bereaved, and for the displaced whose homes have been destroyed. Ask God to pour out His comfort, to heal wounds seen and unseen, and to turn sorrow into hope.

HFI PRAYER REQUESTS
Hope for Israel continues to serve, to bring comfort, strength, and light to families across the nation, walking with them through this difficult time. Below are ways you can pray for us and our nation this month.
MORAN
This month, Moran continues to oversee some big projects that have been in the planning stages for some time. While Israel is still at war, the importance of not waiting for the “day after” cannot be emphasized enough. These projects are helping to bring additional safety and peace to so many families who cannot continue to wait until things quiet down, because none of us know when that will be.
Additionally, he will spend time with several families who lost loved ones on October 7, 2023. As the second anniversary of that horrific attack comes and goes, we are learning increasingly what it means to mourn with those who mourn, and to bring God’s comfort to those still grieving such immense loss. Please pray for Moran during this time, for wisdom to know what to say, when to be quiet, and for emotional strength all around.
Please continue to pray for wisdom & discernment as he seeks creative solutions in restructuring to meet the new reality in our office. The staff is still in transition on various levels and Moran would be grateful for your prayers.
Please continue to pray for:
- For wisdom regarding the various aspects of the ministry that he oversees.
- For strength & wisdom as he provides support for friends & families who have lost their loved ones in the war.
- For strength, wisdom, protection & health during this intense time.
- For guidance and inspiration as he writes his weekly Scripture commentaries & war updates.
- For a blessed time with family & friends during the High Holy Days (Yom Kippur, Succot, & Simchat Torah)

- For Bill Katz, our U.S. representative: for health, fruitful engagements, safe travels, and protection for his family amid growing antisemitism.
THREEFOLD VISION FOR EMPOWERING THE FUTURE GENERATION OF BELIEVERS
NerYah Youth Group
Please pray:
- For the youth to be strengthened in their identity in the Lord, and that He would strengthen their confidence as this year’s theme comes from 1 Timothy 4:12, "Let no one despise you because of your youth."
- For the many activities we have planned during the year (trips, group days, etc.) that they would be meaningful & relevant to the youth, as well as a chance for the youth to be encouraged and blessed.
- For a male and female coordinator in NerYah with a big heart for the young believing youth.
- For more staff to work with the NerYah youth this school year! We are still looking for young adults who can meet the needs of these amazing believing youth!
- For a young believer who shared a particular challenge he has at school in terms of his studies. May he see a real breakthrough!
Believing Soldiers
Please pray:
- For a new coordinator for our believing soldiers program.
- For strength, wisdom, patience & protection for our believing soldiers as this war continues to drag on without any real end in sight.
- For more volunteers to work with our believing soldiers.
- For wisdom for the coordinators of this important outreach, that they would know how to support the soldiers in a way that is relevant to their specific needs.
- For any soldiers struggling after this long season of war. Many are struggling mentally & emotionally and need breakthroughs.
Discharged Believing Soldiers
Please pray:
- For our believing discharged soldiers, for clarity & wisdom as they reenter civilian life. This can be especially challenging for soldiers just coming out of combat units who might also be dealing with some PTSD and other challenges.
- For guidance for the coordinators of this outreach, that they would know how to reach these released soldiers in ways they need the most.
Believing Students
Please pray:
- For strength for the believing students, who are preparing to begin the upcoming academic year this month. May they start this year strong, despite the overall challenges of Israel still at war.
MEDIA PROJECTS: FIGHTING FOR TRUTH
In an age of misinformation and weaponized narratives, media has become a frontline battlefield. Hope for Israel remains committed to creating clear, truthful, Scripture-centered content that shares the reality of life in Israel today.

MINISTRY FINANCES
We are grateful for God’s faithful provision throughout this difficult season. Even in the midst of war, economic instability, and growing ministry demands, we have seen His hand sustaining our core operations.
At the same time, the scope of our work has expanded dramatically from emergency aid and community restoration to national advocacy and outreach. The need is greater than ever, and we are trusting the Lord to meet these needs fully so we can continue serving Israel with integrity, consistency, and compassion.
Please pray:
- For God’s continued provision to sustain both our daily operations and long-term projects.
- For wise financial stewardship across every department, especially as we respond to urgent needs and growing responsibilities.
- For new donors and partners who will stand with us and invest in Israel’s future.
COMMUNITY RESTORATION INITIATIVE
One of Hope for Israel’s most significant financial operations is currently underway: assisting communities that were directly impacted by the October 7 attacks and the ongoing conflict. From rebuilding infrastructure to securing homes and providing emotional and practical support, this is a long-term commitment to healing and restoration.
Please pray:
- For abundant provision to fully fund this critical work of restoration and renewal.
- For wisdom and strategic partnerships as we coordinate with local leaders and families.
- For hope to be restored in these devastated communities, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
- For the strength of the teams involved in logistics, counseling, and construction that they would be protected and sustained.
Tours
One of the main objectives of our tour operation is to cover ministry overhead, so that a higher percentage of donations can go to projects. We hosted an amazing group of people last month for the ministry’s Solidarity Tour! It was a very successful tour on so many levels, and we are grateful for your prayers. Due to the ongoing security situation, all our groups have either canceled or rescheduled for 2026, leaving the tour operation without any income for the foreseeable future.
Please continue to pray:
- For wisdom for Moran & Melissa as they face challenging decisions regarding the tour operations, and begin to plan tours for 2026.
- For open doors for “Footsteps of the Apostle Paul” tours to other countries of the Mediterranean region (Cyprus, Greece, Italy, etc.).
As we continue to stand in the gap, for the people of Israel, for truth, and for the next generation of believers, your prayers, encouragement, and faithful support remain the lifeline that makes our work possible. Thank you for partnering with Hope for Israel as we serve with courage, compassion, and unwavering hope in the midst of these challenging times.
IN HIS SERVICE,
THE HOPE FOR ISRAEL PRAYER TEAM
