Are You Ready?
“…there shall be famines and earthquakes in diverse places. But all these things are the beginning of travail.” Matt 24:7b-8
“I say unto you, in that night there shall be two men on one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. There shall be two women grinding together; the one shall taken, and the other shall be left.” Luke 17:34-35
We all have heard and seen the horrific pictures from New Zealand and now from Japan. As I was watching the live photos streaming from Japan, I could not stop thinking about the verses above.
You’ve heard it before, but I think we can safely say that we are indeed living in special and unique times; we are witnessing prophecies unfolding before our eyes. But I can tell you without a doubt that these troubling times are only the beginning of what’s to come.
I believe that the most important questions we need to ask during these times are “Am I ready?” and “Are those around me such as my family, friends, co-workers, etc. ready?”
One of the things that was repeatedly said on TV today is that there was nothing these people could do, that they had nowhere to run, no place to find shelter. One has to wonder what thoughts went through their minds as they saw the enormous waves coming towards them, and not being able to escape? What about those who were not prepared?
It may be too late for the victims of these terrible events, but I believe there is something you and I can do. We can make sure we are ultimately concerned about the more important issue, which is the eternal one.
I would like to ask each of you reading this if you are ready. Are you ready for the day that your life on this earth will end? What will happen then? Do you know that there is a hope and a future?
This hope is found in eternal life with our Heavenly Father that can only be found through faith in His Son, Yeshua, whom he sent for you and me.
If you are ready, if you have accepted God’s atonement for the world, what are you doing about it? Do people only know you as a “believer” or do they know why you believe? Did you take the time to prepare those who are around you in order for them to be ready as well?
I am sure that the people in Japan did not think it would come this fast, but it did and it can happen to you and I as well.
Are you ready?

I have a renewed perspective on what happened today in Japan, what is happening in Libya, what is happening in Australia, Saudi Arabia, and more. Thanks for reminding me, us, that we must always be ready.
God Bless!
Betty
Thank you for you insights and words of encouragement.
I have been shown
Luke 12
v. 40 “You too, be ready! For the Son Of Man will come when you are not expecting him”
v. 43 It will go well with that servant if he is found doing his job when his master comes.
Blessings and Shalom!
Hi, I’m just wondering why you are saying these earthquakes could be the beginning of the signs of the end times? (not that I’m necessarily disagreeing with you, I’m just curious) Because theres been plenty of earthquakes before, why now? Is it the size of them? Are there other reasons to make you think that?
The reason that I think this may be the sign of times, is that we also see wars, great rumors of wars, the uprising in the Arab world, Israel is back, growing numbers of Jewish who return to the Messiah, growing number of falls Messiah etc.
Yes, good words indeed. Too often Christians (this includes me too) never talk about the weighty issues of life. We spend too much time in unfruitful talk, while people who do not know the Savior are dying. We must be about our Father’s business.
