יש כוח במילים

אגרת יעקב ג’:1-12

יעקב מתחיל את הפרק הזה באזהרה למאמינים שלא כולם יחפצו להיות מורים. הוא מזהיר אותנו שגם כך כולנו מרבים להכשל אז עדיף לכמה שפחות אנשים להיות מורים ואז הוא מסביר את הסיבה. אין אדם אחד שהוא מושלם- כולנו נכשלים, אך זה שביכולתו לשלוט בלשונו הינו בעל יכולת לשלוט בכל גופו. ניתן להבין מכאן שהלשון היא האיבר שהכי קשה לשלוט בו ולכן אם השתלטת עליו הינך מסוגל לשלוט בכל איבר אחר בגופך. בנוסף, הוא מסביר שבלשון יש כוח רב והיא יכולה להרוג או לתת חיים במילים שיוצאות ממנה.

אנחנו נמצאים בתהליך- הדין שינתן לנו על המילים שיצאו מפינו, אינו מתייחס לישועה שלנו. אנחנו נושעים ללא כל תלות במילים שיוצאות מפינו, אולם אנו עדין ניתן דין וחשבון על כל מילה ומילה שנאמר והאוצרות שינתנו לנו בשמים ינתנו על פי הדין הזה.

יש הבדל גדול בין ישועה להתקדשות. אדם שנושע הינו זה שמאמין באלוהים ובבנו ישוע כמשיח ישראל ומזמין אותו להיות אדון חייו. אבל התקדשות הינה התהליך שכל אחד מאיתנו עובר בחייו. המשמעות של קדושה היא להיות נבדלים, שונים ונפרדים. אנחנו לא מתקדשים בשניות- זה תהליך! יעקב אומר לנו בפסוקים 9-12 שהיעד של אלוהים בעבורנו הוא שנהיה קדושים בעבורו ולא נהיה כאלה שגם מברכים וגם מקללים באותה העת.

מתי יב’:34-35

הלשון שלנו היא איבר קטן מאוד אך היא משקפת משהו עמוק וגדול יותר מאשר רק את עצמה. הלשון שלנו מדברת ומשקפת את מה שנמצא בליבנו. אנחנו מוזמנים לבחון את ליבנו דרך המילים שיוצאות מפינו.

מי האדון של חיינו באמת? מה נמצא בליבנו, במרכז חיינו, מחשבותינו ורגשותינו?

Our Words Have Power

James 3:1-12

James opens up this chapter with a word of warning to the believers and he says to them not so seek to be teachers for they receive a stricter judgment. He is warning us that we all stumble and fall short so we are better off not being teachers as well. He keeps on with explaining that no one is perfect, but he who can take control over his tongue is able to take control over all his body. We understand by this, that it is the hardest to control our tongue than any other organ in our body, so if we can control it we will be able to control any other organ in our body. With this James is telling us that the tongue is a very powerful thing, it can kill or give life with the words that come out of it.

We are all in a process- the judgment that is spoken of here doesn’t refer to our salvation. We are saved regardless of the words that come out of our tongue, but we will be judged for our words and the treasures that we will receive in heaven will be affected by them.

There is a great difference between salvation and sanctification. He who is saved has faith in God and Yeshua as Israel’s Messiah, and has invited Him to be Lord over his life. Sanctification is a process that each of us goes through in his lifetime. The meaning of sanctification is to be set apart and different. We do not become sanctified in a matter of seconds- it is a process! James tells us in verses 9-12 that God wants us to be sanctified for him and not be of those who bless and curse by their words at the same time.

Matthew 12:34,35

Our tongue is such a small part of our body but it reflects and shows something much deeper and bigger than just itself. Our tongue reflects the things that are in our hearts.

We are invited to search our hearts through our words.

Who is the Lord over your life? What is really in your heart, in the core of your being, your thoughts and emotions?
