שלמים וללא מום ביום האחרון

 אגרת יעקב א’:16-18

 אלוהים שלח את בנו יחידו כדי שכל המאמין בו יעמוד ביום האחרון מושלם וללא דופי וירש חיי עולם לאחר המשפט. כולנו מועדים למשפט אבל אלוהים אומר שרק זה שיחזיק מעמד עד הקץ הוא ירש חיי עולם. אנחנו רואים בפס’ 12-15 שסופו ודינו של כל אדם הוא מוות- מי לא מוקף בפיתויים? מי לא מלא בתאווה? ומי לא נכנע לתאווה שלו בחייו? משמע שכולנו דיננו מוות.

 ולכן יעקב קורא להם להחזיק מעמד עד הקץ כי רק אז הם יקבלו את עטרת החיים, אם יתגברו על הבשר ותאוותיו. ובפס’ 16 הוא אומר להם אל תטעו ותחשבו שבעזרת המאמצים שלכם תצליחו לעשות משהו שהוא שלם, מושלם וטוב… כל דבר טוב, כל דבר שיועיל לכם ויעזור לכם לעמוד שלמים וללא מום ביום האחרון בא מאלוהים וממנו בלבד!

אנחנו יודעים שהמטרה האולטימטיבית של השטן היא לגנוב להרוג ולהשמיד. להביא אותנו למצב של מוות. אבל מתנתו של אלוהים היא חיים- רומים ו’:23- אלוהים רוצה שאנחנו נחיה. והוא מחויב לעשות כל מה שהוא יכול לעשות ומה שניתן לו לעשות בכדי שנעמוד ביום האחרון ללא כל מום וכל דופי.

קולוסים א’:21-23

הדבר הראשון שאלוהים עשה כדי להבטיח שנעמוד שלמים וללא מום ביום האחרון הוא למסור את בנו כקורבן כדי שבבשרו, ודרך הקורבן הזה, נהיה קדושים וללא מום לפניו. הדבר השני שאלוהים עשה כדי להבטיח את עמידתנו היה לתת לנו את החסד לשמוע את דבר האמת וללדת אותנו מחדש דרכו.

אלוהים אומנם מחויב ונותן לנו כל מתנה טובה כדי שנעמוד מושלמים ביום האחרון. אומנם הוא בחסדו נותן לנו את המתנות השונות, אך עלינו לבקש את המתנות האלו, לעמוד יציבים ומבוססים באמונה רק כך נצליח להחזיק מעמד עד הקץ.

חסד אלוהים לא נגמר שם על הצלב! חסדו זמין גם היום ועלינו לאחוז בו, דרכו נחזיק מעמד עד הקץ ונעמוד שלמים וללא מום ביום האחרון.

Whole and without blemish on the last day

James 1:18-16

God sent His only Son so that all who believe will stand whole and without blemish on the last day and receive eternal life after the trail. We’re all destined for trial, but God says that he who holds on until the end will inherit eternal life. We see in verses 12-15 that the end of every person (without Yeshua) is death. Who doesn’t struggle with temptations? Who doesn’t have lust in him? Who doesn’t sin sometimes? We all are destined for death without Yeshua.

This is the reason James told them to hold on till the end, for only then will they will receive the crown of life, if they will overcome the flesh and its lust. In verse 16 he tells them make no mistake, your greatest efforts will not help you do anything that is complete, whole and good… anything good and beneficial that will help you stand whole and blameless on the last day comes from God, and only from Him.

We know that the ultimate goal the enemy has is to steal, kill and destroy. He will bring us nothing but death. But the gift of God is life- Romans 6:23- God wants us to live. He is committed to making every effort he can, if we let Him, in order so that we will stand whole and blameless on the last day.

Colossians 1:21-23

The first thing God has done to secure our standing whole and blameless on the last day is to send His only Son as a sacrifice, so that by his flesh and sacrifice we would be whole and blameless. The second thing He did to secure us is giving us the grace to hear the Word of truth and be born again by it.

Indeed, God is committed and gives us every good gift so that we can stand perfected in the last day. Indeed, by His grace He gives us different gifts, but we need to ask Him for them and stand firm and rooted in faith- that is the only way we can hold on until the end.

 The grace of God wasn’t finished on the cross! His grace is available today as well and we need to hold on to that grace, and by it we will hold on until the end and stand whole and blameless on the last day.
