Yesterday intense clashes turned violent as thousands of Ethiopian Israelis protested the ongoing racism and violence against the community. By the end of the protests last night, 68 were injured and 43 arrested. Of those hurt, 58 were from security forces and 12 were demonstrators. It got out of control with protestors throwing rocks and bottles at the police, who then responded with stun grenades and charging the crowds on horseback. Today, PM Netanyahu is scheduled to meet with leaders of the Ethiopian community to try to resolve these issues. Please pray for wisdom on the parts of the demonstrators who are organizing, leading and instigating these protests. Pray for a forgiving heart for the Ethiopian community, while also be in prayer for the government leaders to take the necessary action needed to ensure that all Israeli civilians are treated with dignity and respect.
