The riots in Gaza, which began several weeks ago, continue and are even picking up steam. Over the weekend, protesters released incendiary balloons into Israel, sparking a few small fires in the Gaza envelope. Fortunately, local firefighters were able to extinguish the fires quickly. After this escalation, Israel responded by bombing three Hamas posts near to where the riots are taking place. Israel continues to hold Hamas, which governs Gaza, responsible for any escalations in the Strip, even when they do not claim direct authority for the event (as in the case of the riots, which are supposedly “grassroots”).

Please pray for a return of calm. Please pray for protection over the Israeli soldiers on the Gaza border and the Israeli civilians who live nearby.
