אחדות

אל האפסים ד’ 1-6

 לפיכך אני, האסיר למען האדון, מפציר בכם להתנהג כיאה ליעוד שנקראתם אליו. 2 התנהגו בכל ענוה ונמיכות רוח, ובארך אפים. סבלו איש את רעהו באהבה. 3 שקדו לשמר את אחדות הרוח בקשר של שלום. 4 הנה: גוף אחד ורוח אחת, כשם שגם אתם נקראתם אל תקות יעודכם האחת; 5 אדון אחד, אמונה אחת, טבילה אחת, 6 אל ואב אחד לכל, הוא אשר מעל כל, פועל בכל, ובתוך הכל.

 

באיגרת אל האפסים שאול נמצא במאסר, זאת אנו רואים בתחילת פרק ד’, וגם שם הוא אינו חושב על עצמו, אלא על הקהילה והתלמידים בה. אנחנו רואים את הלב שלו בצורה ברורה שהוא דואג ואוהב את האחרים יותר מאשר את עצמו.

 הוא מתחיל את פרק ד’ של האיגרת בכך שהוא קורא לתלמידים להיות מאוחדים. הוא מעלה שבעה דברים שבונים את האחדות שנינו:

1. כולנו מהווים גוף אחד. אנחנו אברים שונים שבונים גוף אחד.

2. לכולנו יש את אותה הרוח, רוח הקודש.

3. כולנו חושבים ומחזיקים באותה התקווה והיא התקווה שנמלא את היעוד שלנו, יעוד שקיבלנו מהאדון.

4. מצייתים לאדון אחד.

5. כולנו מאמינים באותה אמונה- האמונה שישוע בא כדי לכפר על חטאינו וקם לתחייה.

6. כולנו נטבלנו לאדון אחד. אורך החיים שלנו, המעשים שלנו הם אותם מעשים במידה.

7. לכולנו יש את אותו האל שהוא יודע הכל ונמצא בכל אבל קרוב לכל אחד מאיתנו כאב וגורם לכך שכולנו אחים זה לזה.

כל אלה אמורים להיות בכל מאמין בעולם והם הדברים שמשותפים ומאחדים את כולנו.למרות זאת, כל אחד מאיתנו שונה מזה שלידו, בתור בני אדם אנחנו בעלי תכונות שונות וכאן אנחנו פוגשים את הקושי שעומד מול הנסיון להיות מאוחדים. השוני בנינו יכול להתבטא בסוג אופי שונה, מתנות שונות, תאולוגיה שונה, דפוסי חשיבה שונים, תגובות שונות ועוד ועוד.

 איך נוכל להתעלות על הקושי הזה?!

הדבר היחיד שיכול לגבור על ההבדלים שקיימים בנינו היא אהבה.שאול מפרט בפסוק 2 שלושה תכונות שעלינו לאמץ שטבעם נובע מאהבה:

א.      ענווה- ההפך מגאווה, אדם שאינו מתרברב.

ב.      נמיכות רוח- אדם שאינו חושב את עצמו.

ג.        אורך רוח- סבלנות.

 

שאול רואה את המאמינים בצורה שאלוהים רואה אותנו בתור גוף אחד ומאוחד. אנחנו צריכים לבקש מהאדון למלא אותנו באהבה, כי רק אהבה תשמור את האחדות בנינו ותשמור את עינינו על הדברים החשובים באמת.

Unity

Ephesians 4:1-6

 “1 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. 2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.“

 

In the book of Ephesians Paul is in prison, we see this in the beginning of chapter 4. He doesn’t think of himself but rather thinks of the believers in Ephesus. We clearly see his loving and caring heart for others more than himself.

 He begins chapter 4 with calling the Ephesians to be united. He gives seven things that build unity:

1. We’re all a part of one body; we are different parts that build one body.
2. We all have the same spirit in us, the Holy Spirit.
3. We all think and hold on to the same hope and that hope is that we will live up to the destiny God gave us.
4. We all obey the same lord.
5. We all believe in the same faith- we all believe that Yeshua came to atone our sins and rose back to life.
6. We are all baptized to the same lord. Our life style, actions are the same to an extent.
7. We all have the same God that knows all but still is so close to us all as a father and makes us all brothers.

 

All of these are to be in every believer in the world and these are the things that unify us.Though we have a lot in common we are still very different. Our differences are a result of different characters, gifts, theology, reactions and more.

 How can we overcome our differences and maintain the unity between us?

 The only thing that can help us overcome our differences is love. Paul is giving us three characteristics that we are to take into our lives that come out of love:

1. Humility- the opposite of pride, not to boast.
2. Gentleness- not to think our selves more than others.
3. Patience – forbearing

 

Paul sees the believers through the eyes of God, as one body. We need to ask God to fill us with love, for it is only love that can keep our unity and keep our eyes focused on the real important things.
