Shalom from Jerusalem,
As the weather cools, Israeli families flock to enjoy the remaining sunlight in nature. However, for our beloved believing soldiers, the light that sustains them is their desire to protect their families, see the hostages freed, and the displaced return home.
We love our believing soldiers, many of whom are very young and have just graduated high school, and many of whom are older with families of their own. All of them are sons and daughters, whose lives, and the lives of those who love them, have been put on hold as we wait for their safe return.
Hope for Israel honors and seeks to undergird the efforts of our soldiers throughout their service. Our vision to “empower the future generation” has over 30 believing soldiers with whom we are in daily contact. This is accomplished through prayer and encouragement as we accompany them through their military service.
As part of this initiative, the soldiers are regularly given care packages, containing personal letters of encouragement, along with goodies that are particularly relevant during their time of service. At the beginning of October, we gave the soldiers sweets and baked goods, some of which we received as a specific donation for the soldiers. In addition, we gave them a JBL speaker, which they loved! Personal greetings were written by our youth group, NerYah. This time, it was important for us to go directly to their homes to deliver the packages, to see them personally, and to encourage them and their family members.
The responses were heartwarming. One soldier said, “Wow! Both a JBL speaker and a protein bar!? I don’t deserve this. Thank you very much!”
And another said, “Thank you for coming to see me! I can’t believe it!”
I want to personally thank you, our supporters and prayer partners, without whom we would be unable to continue our work. As we “hold up the hands of our soldiers” you hold our hands up, enabling us to continue moving forward with our desire to bless those who are protecting us, while encouraging the younger generation to take an active part in this blessing.
We are grateful to each and every one of you, and hope to be able to share more good news in the coming days, weeks and months.
