Thank You Letter — November 2020

Shalom from Jerusalem!

Thank you for blessing believing university students through our Supplies for Students project! Here in Israel, the university academic year has just started. The fall semester begins after the High Holy Days are over, which is usually in early to mid-October. It's usually a time filled with excitement and anticipation as students are either starting or continuing their university studies.

This year is different. The COVID pandemic has turned the academic year upside down. Most - if not all - universities in Israel have switched to online learning and campuses are pretty much closed. This presents some real challenges for students, many of which they could not fully foresee. One such challenge has been access to computers, printers, and other equipment that students would otherwise be able to access on campus.

We saw that many of the students in our Scholarship & Mentorship program were in need of some important supplies, which would only add to this already challenging school year if left unmet. So, we initiated a new project, Supplies for Students with the sole intent to bless believing students with computers, printers, and other equipment they would need to successfully study!

I want to share two notes of thanks that we received from students in our program:

My name is Rachel* and I began studying at the Hebrew University this year. I want to say THANK YOU to all of you for the support you've given me, even before I began to study. Thank you especially for the gift of the computer! We all know that in these times, it's virtually impossible to study without a portable computer, so thank you so much for everything. I am very grateful!

I wanted to thank you very much for blessing me with a laptop! This is a great help since I cannot do many of my classes without the proper programs that this specific laptop allows me to have. All of my classes are through "zoom" so having a laptop became especially essential this year. Without your help I would not have been able to get a computer. I very much appreciate all of your support and generosity towards me and all of the students with Hope for Israel.

You are a part of this important work! While we continue to be a source of spiritual and practical support for the future generation of believers in Israel, we cannot do it without partners like you. Thank you again for entrusting your offering to Hope for Israel as we invest in the future of Israel!
