Shalom from Jerusalem,
This month we would like to offer a brief overview of the activities of our believing youth group, NerYah, since the beginning of the war over 5 months ago.
NerYah’s activity was materially affected by the war, as was every area of Israeli life. For many of the youth, the war was – and is – felt personally, as they had older brothers, sisters, cousins or friends who were serving in active duty. For others, the constant stress and air raid sirens were a trigger for fear and anxiety.
Despite the challenging situation, NerYah’s incredible leadership has worked tirelessly to provide a safe outlet for the youth. Your generosity helps us to cover the overhead costs of the meetings, which are held in a bomb shelter, allowing us to meet without safety concerns. Furthermore, not only has NerYah been able to hold regular weekly meetings for believing youth, but we are also able to provide a filling after-school meal, special meetings for boys and girls, and marking the holidays and their importance.
Sharona, one of our NerYah leaders told us, “Especially in this challenging and complex time there is importance and meaning to open and real dialogue [with the youth].” NerYah provides the necessary framework to build these genuine relationships.
To continue what Sharona said, especially in wartime, providing a safe place and continuity for the believing youth is incredibly important. Without you, this would be impossible. Thank you for your continued and faithful support of our investment in the next generation of young believers. We don’t take it for granted!
Thank you for entrusting your offering to Hope for Israel. Your partnership means a great deal to me, my team, and the many people who are blessed by the ministry’s work. May we continue to be a light and a blessing to the people of Israel during this dark and difficult time.
