Shalom from Jerusalem!
One thing I am very passionate about is investing in the future generation of Israel. When I first entered full-time ministry over twenty years ago, I had no desire to work with the future generation — in fact, they weren't even on my “radar” so to speak. When a small group of four teenagers approached me to be a spiritual covering over their school prayer meetings in Israel, my immediate thought was, “No way! I’m not called to this.” But God slowly began to change my heart, and here we are over a decade later, with a vibrant comprehensive program whose main aim is to empower this next generation of Israeli believers - spiritually, emotionally, and professionally.
One area that continues to grow and bear amazing fruit is with young adults who have finished their military or national service and are ready to move to the next step of their lives — college & career. In addition to providing scholarships to study at colleges and universities in Israel, we also have a dynamic mentorship program where we invest a lot of time and energy into these young men and women. Whether it’s through one-on-one career counseling, hosting virtual workshops to give practical help, or being a real source of encouragement for getting through a challenging time, we are there for them.
I want to share a text message I recently received from Yael, a young woman who has been part of our youth program since she was 13 years old and is now an architecture student at Israel’s top design institution:
I get a scholarship from another certain source that gives to over 100 students — it’s wonderful and I thank God for their help! But there is nothing like the personal care I get from Hope for Israel. I think of it like a house — there is the house and the beautiful furniture but there is no “hominess”, you know, like missing the little things that give a personal warm touch and make a house a home. And that’s what you do! Hope for Israel is a family — the attitude is not one of looking down but of coming underneath to support and strengthen. I am so thankful!
YOU help us to be there for young adults like Yael, who appreciate not only the financial support, but also the emotional and spiritual support. Thank you for entrusting your offering to Hope for Israel as we continue to invest in the future generation of believers in Israel. Your partnership means a great deal to me, and I am truly grateful!
