Shalom! Greetings in the new calendar year from Jerusalem!
I’d like to share with you something that touched my heart, and I hope it will also bless you. As you may know, discipling the next generation of believers in Israel is a core component of our vision at Hope for Israel. To that end, we actively pursue our "Threefold Vision" of youth discipleship from the high school level, through their compulsory military service, to their university studies.
At our staff meeting this past week, our female leader for the NerYah youth group, Efrat, reported that the separate meetings she holds for the young girls every two months are going really well. These meetings are in addition to the weekly co-ed youth group meetings in central Jerusalem. Efrat addresses specific challenges they face growing up in a culture that is often hostile not only to their faith, but also to their identity as women. The girls have been so encouraged and strengthened by these bi-monthly meetings that they asked to start meeting every month. They even offered that each girl would bring a snack to offset the cost of Hope for Israel providing food for the meetings. What a special group of young women!
I was so blessed not only by their desire to have more time of fellowship with one another, but also by their willingness to take initiative and work together to bring this to fruition. I am truly encouraged by what I see in the youth here in Israel, and their incredible commitment to the Lord and His kingdom.
You are an integral part of this important work! Thank you for partnering with us and entrusting your offering to HFI as we seek to disciple the next generation of believers in Israel. May the Lord continue to strengthen this partnership, and may you know His abundant blessing in your lives!
Gratefully yours,
