Shalom from Jerusalem,
As we are in the season of Hanukkah, I have been reflecting on how powerful small acts can be in bringing God’s light to others. The impact of our obedience, even in the smallest of ways, can literally change people’s lives. There is no way I could have foreseen how saying “yes” to supporting a small group of Israeli believing youth praying in their high school 15 years ago would have put in motion what we now see today in our Threefold Vision for Discipleship.
And please do not think highly of me…I begrudgingly said “yes” not because I wanted to, but because I knew I would be disobedient to the Lord if I said “no”. But that’s the power of God, isn’t it? He can feed a multitude with only a few fish and loaves of bread. He takes the little that we can give and does the impossible with it!
I was reminded of this when a young believing couple approached my wife and me to do premarital counseling. What is so special about this couple is that they both grew up as friends in the NerYah youth group, were both in our Believing Soldiers’ program, and then they continued on through their university studies through our Scholarship & Mentoring program. And now I have the immense privilege of mentoring them through this next incredible season of life – marriage.
I am so thankful to see God’s hand move in the lives of the hundreds of young believers who have taken part in our Threefold Vision of Discipleship over the years. The truth is that it could not have been possible without the practical and spiritual support of you, our partners. You are a significant part of this work!
Thank you for entrusting your offering to Hope for Israel. Your partnership means a great deal to me, my team, and the many people who are blessed by the ministry’s work. May we continue to be a light and a blessing to the future generation in Israel!
