Shalom from Jerusalem,
I am so grateful that you partnered with us to keep the believing youth of Jerusalem engaged over their summer break.
Summer vacation is a welcome break from the intensity of the school year in Israel, but it can also be a time when young people find themselves without much to do. We found it vital to provide regular activities for the believing youth. Within the framework of NerYah, our incredible team created a summer program to engage the youth and provide them with a warm, loving place to hang out and stay connected.
We hosted the youth in the “Mo’adon” (clubhouse) connected to our offices in Jerusalem numerous times for fellowship, food, and games. Additionally, the youth were treated to a movie night, replete with popcorn, and a light dinner, as well as a discussion of the film afterward. They also had a two-day workshop on effective prayer and gaining tools for reading Scripture in-depth; with the adult leaders, they read through key chapters in Isaiah and Ephesians while learning how to implement the tools they received.
One of the areas I am most proud of my team for implementing is training up 11th and 12th graders in godly leadership. For those that are interested, we offer “Tzevet Tzayir” (Youth Leadership), where these youth can take on some leadership within the youth group, and help in planning & executing specific activities, as well as praying for the other youth in the group. Over the summer, we held some training workshops for these young leaders, as well as planning for the upcoming school year.
You are an important part of this important work! Without your support, we could not do the work that He has entrusted to us. Thank you for entrusting your offering to Hope for Israel. Your partnership means a great deal to me, my team, and the many people who are blessed by the ministry’s work.
