Shalom from Jerusalem,
For the last several months, the coordinators of NerYah, our believing youth group, have been busy planning a fantastic day trip for the teens. At the end of July, their hard work and plans came to fruition in a fun, adventurous and encouraging hike through the Carmel mountains to the site where many believe the Elijah the Prophet confronted the prophets of the false god Baal. After a short devotional time focusing on part of Elijah’s story, the youth had the opportunity to visit a lookout point situated on Mt. Carmel, from which they could see as far north as Mt. Hermon!
NerYah had lunch in an authentic Druze family restaurant before continuing to the final part of their trip – visiting some natural springs! Here, the believing youth had free time to have fun together, and the counselors were able to have deeper conversations with several of the teens. For the leaders, this was a highlight of the day, and the youth were truly encouraged!
Redit, the newest coordinator in NerYah, shared her experience:
“On the hike, I was excited to realize the opportunity that I have been given to take part in the lives of the [believing] youth – to serve, to encourage [them], and to be encouraged by them. I was also impressed by the wonderful staff!”
We’re so happy to have Redit on board and are truly grateful for the amazing success of our summer NerYah day trip!
Thank you for entrusting your offering to Hope for Israel. Your partnership means a great deal to me, my team, and the many people who are blessed by the ministry’s work. We cannot underestimate the positive impact on these believing teens! May we continue to be a light and a blessing to the next generation!
