As previously mentioned, the rate of internal Arab crime in Israel surged during 2023. While the trend is not new (Arab sector crime has been rising for several years), this year the situation has become more serious, with the number of casualties doubling since last year and many Arabs – especially women – reporting a feeling of insecurity in their own communities.

Two out of the several homicide victims this week were political candidates. With crime rings largely responsible for the high murder rates, it is highly likely that these were targeted assassinations. This brought home the severity of the problem, prompting police to open a special investigation in the murders.

Please pray for the families of the men who were targeted. Please pray for insight and efficacy for police officers handling the investigation. Lastly, please pray for a long-term solution to this tragic problem.
