המטרה: להידמות לישוע

הראשונה לכיפא ג’:8-22

בקטע זה של האיגרת הראשונה של כיפא, כיפא מדבר על שלושה נושאים מרכזים:

מערכות היחסים בין המאמינים

מערכות היחסים של המאמינים עם הבלתי מאמינים

הבנת מעמדו של המשיח

הנושא הראשון בו נוגע כיפא בקטע זה הוא מערכות היחסים בין המאמינים. בכתבי הקודש אנחנו רואים שאין מאמין שעומד לבדו, אלא תמיד הינו חלק מקהילה- ממשהו שגדול יותר ממנו.  כיפא קורא למאמינים להיות מאוחדים. מוצב בפנינו אתגר לא קטן שכן הקהילה מורכבת מאנשים מרקעים שונים והנטייה הטבעית של האדם היא להתאחד עם אנשים שדומים לו, אך כיפא קורא לנו להיות מאוחדים עם כולם. איננו חייבים להסכים על הכל, אך עלינו להיות ממוקדים במשיח ובקידום מלכותו עליי אדמות. עלינו למקד את המחשבות שלנו במטרה ולא בעצמנו.

כיפא קורא למאמינים להיות שותפים לצער הזולת ובכדי להשתתף בצערו של אחר עלינו לדעת מה מתרחש בחייו. לרוב אנחנו כל כך מרוכזים בעצמנו שאיננו יודעים שהאחר סובל או נמצא בצער ולכן איננו שותפים בצערו ואיננו עושים משהו כדי לסייע לו. ישוע התמלא בחמלה והזדהה עם הצער של כל האבלים על מותו של אלעזר. ישוע לא היה אדיש לסבלו של אחר וכיפא קורא לנו להיות דומים לישוע. עלינו להיות מלאי אהבה, רחמים ובעיקר להיות ענווים לחשוב על מישהו אחר על פנינו.

בנושא השני שכיפא עוסק בו הוא מערכות היחסים של המאמינים עם הבלתי מאמינים. כיפא קורא לנו לבשר את המשיח, הבשורה איננה העבודה שאני מאמין כי אם מה ישוע עשה בעבור האנושות, בעבורי, כיצד הוא שינה את חיי ושאלוהים מוכן ויכול לשנות גם את חייך. עיקר הבשורה איננה מתבטאת במילים שאנחנו אומרים כי אם בהתנהגות שלנו. הלא מאמינים אוהבים את ההתנהגות הטובה שלנו, ואם ההתנהגות שלנו משקפת את האמת שבפינו הבלתי מאמינים לא יכלו לפתוח פה נגדנו.

בפסוקים 18-22 כיפא מתחיל לדבר על מעמדו של המשיח. הוא מציין מספר עובדות לגבי המשיח:

המשיח מת בעבור כפרה על חטאים

המשיח מת אחת ולתמיד- אין צורך בעוד קורבן

המשיח צדיק שמת בעבור רשעים

המשיח מקרב אותנו לבורא עולם- החטאים והעוונות שלנו מפרידים אותנו מאלוהים וישוע מחבר אותנו בחזרה.

המשיח היה מוכן לשלם במחיר חייו כדי שאנחנו נוכל לחיות ברוח.

המשיח קם מן המתים ובתחיתו אנחנו יכולים להתחייב לאלוהים ולהדמות לישוע

המשיח עלה לשמים ויושב לימין האב בגבורה

בקטע הזה של האיגרת קורא כיפא למאמינים להדמות לישוע ביחסים שלהם עם המאמינים וביחסים שלהם עם החברה מסביבם. בתור מאמינים עלינו להבין ולהכיר בדרך בה התהלך המשיח שלנו- דרך של ענווה וכניעה. המאפיינים המרכזיים בחייו של המאמין חייבים להיות נמיכות רוח וכניעה רק כך נוכל להעדיף את האחר על פנינו. רק כך באמת נוכל להיות דומים לישוע.

The Aim: Resembling Yeshua

1 Peter 3:8-22

In this passage Peter refers to three main subjects:

1. Relationships within the body of believers
2. Relationships between believers and non-believers
3. The Messiah’s role

Throughout the Bible, we see that a believer does not stand on his own, but always has a community of believers surrounding him. He is part of something greater than just himself. Peter calls believers to stand in unity. There is quite a challenge in doing so, for the body of believers is built from people of different backgrounds and the tendency to get together with those who are similar to them. But Peter is calling us to stand unified with those who are different than us as well. We don’t have to agree with each other, but we should focus our eyes on the Messiah and on advancing His kingdom here on earth. We’re to focus on the purpose and not on ourselves.

Peter calls the believers to share in each other’s sorrows and pain. In order to do so, one needs to be aware of what occurs in the other’s life. Often, we’re so focused on ourselves that we do not know what is happening in the life of our friends and therefore we don’t share in their suffering. Yeshua was full of compassion and sympathy with those mourning Eleazar’s death; He wasn’t apathetic to the suffering and pain of those around Him. Peter is calling us to be like Yeshua, full of love, compassion and especially humble, for it is only by humility that we can think of others before thinking of ourselves.

Peter goes on by calling the believers to share the good news of Yeshua. The good news of what He has done for humanity, how He has changed our lives and how He wants and is able to change the life of the one who believes in Him. The core of the gospel is not expressed merely in words but also in the way we live. The non-believers respect our good behavior and if they see that our actions match our words, it leaves them with no negative thing to say about us.

In verses 18-22 Peter speaks of the Messiah’s role. He states a few facts concerning the Messiah:

1. The Messiah died for the atonement of sins.
2. The Messiah died once and for all- there is no need for more sacrifices.
3. The Messiah is a righteous man that died for the wicked.
4. The Messiah brings us closer to our Creator. Our sins and wickedness are the things that separate us from God, but Yeshua restores us to Him.
5. The Messiah paid the price with His life for us so that we will live in the Spirit.
6. The Messiah rose from the dead and in His resurrection we can commit our lives to God and be more like Yeshua.
7. The Messiah is seated at the right hand of the Father in glory.

In this passage, Peter is calling the believers to resemble Yeshua in their relationships with other believers and non-believers. As followers of Yeshua we must understand and walk as our Messiah did, in submission and humility. These two are very essential in the life of the believer; only with those will we put others before ourselves. This is the only way we can really resemble Yeshua.
