מלחמה רוחנית

 אל האפסים ו’:10-18

 10 סוף דבר, חזקו ביהוה ובכח גבורתו. 11 לבשו את מלוא נשק האלהים למען תוכלו לעמד נגד נכלי השטן; 12 כי לא עם בשר-ודם מלחמה לנו, אלא עם רשיות ושררות, עם מושלי חשכת העולם הזה, עם כחות רוחניים רעים בשמים. 13 על כן קחו את מלוא נשק האלהים, למען תוכלו להתנגד ביום הרע, ולעמד לאחר עשותכם את הכל. 14 עמדו כשהאמת חגורה על מתניכם ושריון הצדק לבושכם, 15 וכשרגליכם נעולות נכונות לבשורת השלום. 16 עם כל אלה שאו את מגן האמונה אשר תוכלו לכבות בו את כל חציו הבוערים של הרע. 17 וקחו את כובע הישועה ואת חרב הרוח, שהיא דבר האלהים. 18 בכל תפלה ותחנה התפללו תמיד ברוח. שקדו בתפלתכם והתמידו בתחנה בעד כל הקדושים.

 שאול קורא לנו בבואו לסיכום האיגרת להתחזק באדון. אבל איך אנחנו מתתחזקים באדון? כדי להתחזק באדון אנחנו צריכים להכיר אותו, אנחנו צריכים להכיר את אלוהים ולא רק לדעת עליו. אם אנחנו באמת מכירים אותו אנחנו נכיר את האופי שלו וכך נוכל להתעודד ולהתחזק ממי שהוא ולהתחזק בכוח של הגבורה שלו אותה אנחנו חווים ורואים בחיינו וסביבנו.

 בקטע הזה של האיגרת שאול מדבר על מלחמה רוחנית. הוא מדבר על מאבק שמתחולל בין אלוהים לשטן, בין האור לחושך, בין רוחות טובות ורעות שמשפיעים על המעשים, המחשבות והרגשות של בני אדם. מלחמה רוחנית מתחוללת במספר רבדים- ברובד העולמי (לדוג’ חטא האדם הראשון), ברובד הלאומי (לדוג’ מלחמה מתמדת נגד אהבת ישראל והעם היהודי) וברובד האישי כשכל אחד מאיתנו חווה מאבק פנימי בין הטוב לרע, בין אמונה לחוסר אמונה.

 אם אי פעם הרגשת רגשות או חשבת מחשבות שאין טעם לחיים או שהאמונה בישוע היא דבר משעמם ושעליך לוותר עליו? או אולי הרגשת רגש של כעס כל כך חזק ולא פרופורציונלי? חשבת מחשבות טמאות שלא מתאימות לך?

 עלינו להבין שרגשות ומחשבות כאלו הם חלק מההתקפות של האויב על החיים שלנו ועל הלב שלנו. כולנו נמצאים במלחמה רוחנית והאויב מנסה בכל כוחו שלא נאמין בישוע ושלא נתהלך עם ישוע! המלחמה אמיתית ולכן עלינו להתחזק באדון (במי שהוא ובכוח גבורתו) ולאחוז בכל הכלים שהוא נתן לנו! עלינו להחזיק במלוא נשק האלוהים: בחגורת האמת, בשריון הצדק, בנעלי בשורת השלום, בכובע הישועה, במגן האמונה ובחרב הרוח.

 אם לא נכיר אותו, לא נכיר את דברו ואת קולו ונחווה תבוסה, אבל אם נכיר אותו ונתחזק בו ובכוח גבורתו נגבור על כל מזימות האויב ונעמוד כמנצחים ביום האחרון.

Spiritual warfare

Ephesians 6:10-18

 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

As we are getting to the end of the letter to the Ephesians Paul is calling them to be strong in the Lord. But how do we strengthen our selves in the lord? In order to be strong in the Lord we need to know Him, we need to know HIM and not know about Him. If we really know Him we will know His character and we will be able to be encouraged and strengthened by who He is and His power as we see Him at work in our lives.

In this passage Paul is talking about spiritual warfare. He is talking about a battle between God and the devil, light and darkness and between good and evil spirits that are battling for the thoughts, emotions and deeds of man. The spiritual warfare is happening on a few levels: A general level (i.e. the first sin of mankind), on a national level (i.e. the war against love for the Jewish people) and on a personal level that every one of us is experiencing the ongoing battle within us between good and evil, faith and lack of faith.

Have you ever felt or thought thoughts like there is no reason for living or that believing in Yeshua is boring and I should stop believing? Or felt so angry that it was not proportional to the situation? Ever thought unclean thoughts?

We need to understand that these kinds of thoughts and emotions are part of the attacks of the enemy on our lives and hearts. We are in a spiritual warfare and the enemy is trying with all his strength to lead us away from Yeshua and our walk with Him. This war is real and that is why we need to be strong in the Lord (in who He is and His power) and take hold of the weapons He has given us: the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the gospel of truth, the armor of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit.

If we do not know Him, do not know His voice and word, we will be defeated, but if we know Him and stand strong in Him and His power, we will overcome the evil one and stand as conquerors in the last day.
