חג שבועות : עקרון הנתינה

בחג שבועות אנחנו נקראים לזכור שבורא שמים ריבון מעל כל דבר בחיינו. יש לו שליטה על כל נסיבות חיינו והוא זה שמספק לנו את היורה בזמנו ואת המלקוש. אנחנו צריכים לזכור שבורא שמים וארץ חשוב בהרבה מכל תבואה וכל דבר גשמי שיש לנו ולכן עלינו להקריב אליו בחזרה את ראשית התבואה שלנו כאות לכך שאנו מאמינים באלוהים, מודים לו ומציבים אותו במקום הראשון והגבוה ביותר.

חג שבועות בעבורנו מייצג גם את נתינת התורה (ע”פ המסורת היהודית) וגם את מתן רוח הקודש (ע”פ האמונה בישוע המשיח). אלוהים נתן לנו את שניהם בחינם ובמטרה שנתקרב ונכיר אותו, במטרה שנהיה דומים לו, שנהיה קדושים כמו שהוא קדוש, שנהיה טובים כמו שהוא טוב ונדיבים כמו שהוא נדיב.

העידן בו אנחנו חיים כיום מכתיב לנו לחיות את חיינו בצורה “בטוחה”. אנחנו אוגרים בגדים, חפצים ודברים מתוך הפחד. אנחנו מפחדים לחלוק, לתת, למסור כי אנחנו לא מוכנים שלנו יהיה חסר.

אלוהים נתן לנו דוגמא מדהימה דרך האספקה שלו בתבואה ובאוכל שהוא הצמיח בעבור עם ישראל בעבר ועד היום. הוא סיפק והוא נאמן לספק תמיד! במועד הזה הוא קורא לנו לזכור את כל שהוא עשה, להיות מוכנים לתת- להיות דומים לו יותר.

אלהים מסר את בנו יחידו, את ראשית הביכורים שלו בעבורנו, את ישוע המשיח. האם אנחנו מוכנים למסור משהו שקיבלנו ושאנחנו אוהבים בעבור כבוד האלוהים?

Shavuot: The Principle of Giving

In the holiday of Shavuot we are called to remember that the Maker of the universe is sovereign over everything in our lives. He is in control of our life circumstances and He is the one that gives us the first and last rain in its timing. We’re to remember that the Maker of heaven is more important than the fruit of the earth He gives. We’re to offer our first fruits to him as a symbol of his place in our lives and our trust and thankfulness towards him.

Shavuot represents the gift of the Torah and the Holy Spirit. God gave us these two freely so that we will come close to Him and know Him, so we’ll be more like Him. He desires for us to be holy as He is holy, good as He is good and generous as He is generous.

In the age we live in we are told to live our lives in a safe way. We collect cloves, artifacts and things out of fear. We fear we will be in want so we don’t give, share and hand out.

God gave us an example through giving the fruit of the land and supplying all the needs of the people of Israel in the past and today. God supplied and is always faithful to supply! In this holiday God is calling us to remember what He has done and be willing to give and be more like Him.

God gave His only son Yeshua HaMashiach, His first fruit, for us. Are we ready to give up something that we’ve received and love for the glory of God?
