Since new elections were announced this week, some of Israel’s political parties have experienced upheaval. Amir Peretz, the head of the left-leaning Labor party, announced his resignation once polls indicated that Labor would not receive enough votes to enter the new Knesset. PM Netanyahu’s party, Likud, has also been affected. Two top members have left to join former Likud member, Gidon Sa’ar’s new party, New Hope. Israeli politics has become more of a farce the past few years, with many members of parliament often switching parties to save their careers. Please continue to pray for Israel’s leadership, for integrity in leading, and seeking the good of the people they serve over their own.
