Lately all the news coverage has been focused on the horrible acts committed in the Middle East, predominantly by ISIS and the events happening in Syria and Iraq. But the ramifications of this evil is reaching to every corner of the earth. This week ISIS publicized the beheading of the second Japanese journalist and yesterday it was revealed the burning alive of a Jordanian pilot that was captured by ISIS a few months ago. It is easy to become afraid and feel insecure in times like these when we are bombarded by the media with such darkness that exists in the world. Yet, it is important to remain prayerful and seek out the light and protection that we carry as children of God. Let the words of Scripture encourage you today:

“For the word of the Lord is upright; and all his work is done in faithfulness. He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord.” Psal 33:4-5
