Dear Prayer Partners,
Shalom and greetings from Jerusalem! This past month has been a month of joy as we welcomed spring in Israel and celebrated Purim. The month of April is a month for both joy as we celebrate Pesach (Passover) and somber reflection as we observe Holocaust Memorial Day. Both in the joyful and somber days of this month, we will be reminded of God’s steadfast love for the nation and people of Israel throughout the generations. There is a song we sing for Pesach called “Dayenu” (dah-yay-noo), which means, “it would’ve been enough for us”. Dayenu reminds us that every single one of God’s miraculous wonders would have been enough to demonstrate his great faithfulness to the people of Israel, and yet He has continued to pour out His love anew, time and time again.
Please join us in interceding on behalf of Israel for:
Pesach Celebrations
Please join us in praying for protection and revelation during the Pesach celebrations this month. Pray for joy and unity among families and for safety as many travel to celebrate with other members of congregations/synagogues and families. Pray also for protection from anti-Semitism and acts of terrorism as families forge memories together that will last a lifetime. God has set Pesach apart as a time to be reminded of His redeeming love, so we’re praying that this will be an especially positive and life-changing time for the Jewish people, both in Israel and abroad. Join us in praying this month that this Pesach, the people of Israel will come to the understanding of the Lamb who takes away the sins of the world!
BDS
Among the most persistent and organized economic attacks against Israel have been the boycott efforts of BDS. We have seen a lot of breakthrough as we’ve prayed regarding economic attacks against Israel. Most recently, the US congress has introduced legislation that if passed will be a powerful stride towards taking power away from the attacks of BDS against Israel. Although the UK is still supporting legislation that targets Israeli settlements, in a rare statement to the UN this past month, the UK that they would begin vetoing all resolutions critical of Israel if the UN does not cease targeting Israel in their resolutions. Pray that God will begin to turn the UK leadership increasingly in favor of Israel. Please join us in praying that God will not only stop the attacks of BDS but will bless both Israel and those who are standing with Israel against these attacks.
Hamas, Hezbollah, and ISIS
On every side, Israel is continually facing terrorist threats, but God is stronger than these threats. Continue to join us in prayer that Israel will continue to be able to fend off these threats. Most recently, a terrorist by the name of Yahya Sinwar, well known to the people of Israel, has risen to power as prime minister of the Hamas regime. ISIS has been attempting attacks on Israel from Gaza, the Sinai, Syria and even from within the Judea and Samaria region through correspondence with residents there. Hezbollah has also been obtaining weapons from Iran and while Israel is doing its best to inhibit this process, most Hezbollah activity is in Syria and Israel has limited capacity for operating in Syrian territory.
Iran
Continue praying with us that Iran and Israel will be reconciled. There are actually Jews in power today in the Iranian regime, but their salary comes from a supreme leader who hates Israel and imprisons and kills those who disagree with his views. Pray for the safety of the nearly 9,000 Jews still living in Iran and boldness for those who are functioning as government employees that they will wisely seek out ways to take power away from their wicked supreme leader and return power into the hands of the people. Iran also recently sanctioned 30 US companies for having ties to Israel. Please pray that the tensions with Iran since their revolution nearly 40 years ago will finally come to an end and Israel will be honored and protected by Iran as it has been throughout most of history until 40 years ago.
Following are some ministry requests for Hope for Israel:
Moran
Please continue to pray for strength and encouragement for Moran as he leads visitors to Israel on tours throughout the nation while continuing his roles as writer and teacher and Executive Director of Hope for Israel. Please pray for his upcoming two-day trip to England where he has been invited to share about Messiah in the Passover with a congregation and Bible college. During this busy season of continued travels, please continue to pray that Moran’s time with his family will be truly life giving and that he will be blessed with an increasing vision for how to lead his family into greater and greater love and care for one another. Please also pray for protection over his family and health for them all during Moran’s time away from home this month.
HFI Board
Please continue to pray for God’s guidance concerning the decisions facing the HFI Board. Pray with us that God would continue to provide for each and every need. Pray that God will protect the Board and its members from all attacks of the Enemy against their health, their families or the work they are doing for the kingdom of God.
HFI Staff
Please pray for clear communication between staff and for wisdom and effectiveness in all that we do. Please pray for wisdom as we seek a personal assistant to Moran, in order to free him up to focus in other areas more pertinent to discipleship and sharing Messiah Yeshua with others. Pray for the salvation of those family members of ours who have yet to believe. We know that even as we work to shine the light of God in Israel as a whole, we must also work to see breakthrough in the lives of our own family members.
NerYah Youth Group
Continue to pray with us that God will bring more youth leaders to NerYah in His timing. We are praying for leaders who are truly meant to be a part of this team, leaders with a heart for these youth and a readiness to pour into the youth in a fresh way. As we continue to pray for more youth leaders, please join us in praying that we will come to decisions based on the guidance of the Holy Spirit and not merely of our own human reasoning. NerYah is attended by dozens of youth and there are some who have yet to give their life to Yeshua. Please pray for God to touch each and every one of the youth who are joining us. Pray also that we may create an environment for the youth that allows for open and effective communication through which we may learn about the challenges the youth are facing and speak into their unique life circumstances.
Believing Soldiers’ Outreach
Two of our youth from NerYah have recently enlisted in the military this past month after a season of anticipation and wondering what the future holds for them in the military. Join us in praying for God’s guidance, reassurance and peace in their lives as they take this brave next step into the unknown. Please also pray for all of the soldiers, that God will guard them from the unhealthy relationships, both romantic and otherwise, that are so easy to form during military service because of the frequent and close interactions with other soldiers. This past month, new team members for this outreach joined us, so please pray with us for them to flourish in their new roles. Please also continue to pray with us that God will bring more leaders to the team to assist us in our work with the soldiers.
Tour Department
Our Experience Israel tour this past month was a truly wonderful experience both for the guests that joined us and for the team that lead them throughout Israel. Please pray that God will bring the right people for next year to receive a revelation of His heart in this land. Beyond the Experience Israel Tour, we offer a number of other tours to help believers get a deeper understanding of God’s heart for this land. Please pray that every tour will make an impact on the body of Messiah throughout the world to connect believers with a right understanding of this land and the people who call this land our home. Pray that as we welcome people to Israel we’ll continue to effectively show believers the realities of life in Israel today that are often misconstrued in the media. Aside from the Experience Israel tour, two more tours we’d especially appreciate prayer for this next month are this year’s Israel-Greece tour and next year’s Pastors Solidarity tour.
Foundations of the Faith Book
Please pray for the preparation of the English translation of the book. Please also continue to pray that the Hebrew and Russian translations will reach many for the kingdom of God.
In His Service,
The Hope for Israel Prayer Team
