Prayer Letter — October 2017

Dear Prayer Partners,
The High Holy Days are upon us and what a time of both great joy and great sobriety as we observe both the faithfulness of our God and the importance of His atonement among us. Thanks to the generosity of many, this past month we were able to bless many low-income families here in Israel just in time for the High Holy Days. Please pray that those who’ve received from our Operation Hesed outreach and who will receive from it in the future will be truly blessed. The Hope for Israel staff is looking ahead to the month of October to be an especially powerful month of team building and growth here at Hope for Israel, as well as a time of increasing revelation of God in this land!

Please join us in interceding on behalf of Israel for:

Sukkot
If there’s one feast in Israel that especially encourages family time, it’s Sukkot. Eating (and for some—also sleeping) in a sukkah (a kind of tent) as a family for 8 or 9 days is a great way to break out of the routine as a family and enjoy a special time with each other. The time decorating the sukkah is also special. Pray that families will truly enjoy a time of bonding for this special feast. Pray also for safety for the families and God’s protection so that this time can be a truly joyful time for all!

Netanyahu Indictment
Cigars, champagne, dinner parties and jewelry gifts have become grounds for accusing the Netanyahu family of accepting bribes. The concern with these allegations is that political rivals of the Netanyahus will take these allegations as an opportunity to further political interests that could destabilize the country even further beyond what the ongoing accusations against the Netanyahu family have already done. Please pray for stability in the government in Israel despite any corruption existing at the government level. Pray also that the truth will become clear and that as it does, Israel will continue to become an increasingly healthy nation with effective checks and balances on the nation’s leaders.

Rain
This past month, Bet Dagan & HaKefar HaYarok (two cities in central Israel) got their first sprinkle of rain as the dry season comes to a close and the rainy season gets ready to begin in Israel. We are praying and believing that God is going to work a miracle for this land in the coming year. Please pray that the rest of Israel will see abundant rainfall throughout this year and an awesome restoration of Israel’s water resources!

Bahrain
Bahrain, an Arab country that does not have diplomatic relations with Israel became the first Arab nation this past month to both denounce BDS and declare its citizens free to visit Israel. Pray that other nations will soon follow suit and that Israel will continue to fulfill her call to be a blessing to the nations.

Following are some ministry requests for Hope for Israel:

Moran
Moran is coming off an incredibly busy September, and will have the month of October to slow down a bit, and spend more concentrated time in the office. He will also have some quality time with his family during the Sukkot holiday!  He will be preparing for a November speaking trip in the USA, as well.  Please pray for Moran, that he would have good rest this month, and for quality time with his family to recharge before a busy November.

HFI Board
Please continue to pray for God’s guidance concerning the decisions facing the HFI Board. Pray with us that God would continue to provide for each and every need. Pray that God will protect the Board and its members from all attacks of the Enemy against their health, their families or the work they are doing for the kingdom of God.

HFI Staff
We have welcomed a new part-time staff member to oversee our Media Team, and are considering bringing on another staff member to help alleviate some duties in other areas. We have some new volunteer members on our leadership team at NerYah, so please pray for them to settle in quickly and connect well with the youth. We are still in need of a full-time female to come alongside David in the leadership; please pray that the Lord will bring us just the right person for the job! Please also pray for the staff working with the believing soldiers, that their heart for the soldiers and commitment to the soldiers will show in all that they do.

NerYah Youth Group
The youth returned to school at the beginning of this past month and so the new year at NerYah also began. Please pray for the youth as they return to a learning routine. Pray for the motivation and concentration necessary for them to excel in school. Pray for a divine encounter with the Holy Spirit in the life of each and every one of the youth. Please pray that those who have given their life to God will receive guidance and revelation from God. Pray also that those youth will walk completely in right relationship with the Lord.

Believing Soldiers’ Outreach
Please pray for some of the soldiers who are caught in challenging circumstances. Pray that they will shine with the light of Messiah in every situation. Pray for spiritual protection over their hearts and spirits and that their relationship with the Lord will continually be strengthened.

Foundations of the Faith Book
We now have Hebrew, Russian and English translations of our discipleship book! Please pray that every copy of the book will have a personal impact on those who read it and draw many into an increasingly deeper relationship with God!

Tours
As we near the deadline for signing up for the Experience Israel Tour and the Pastors’ Solidarity Tour, please join us in praying that God will continue to bring people for the tours, who will be ready for a revelation of His heart in this land.

Israel’s Salvation
We hold to the promise that, “All Israel will be saved.” (Romans 11:26) Please join us in praying for the Jewish people’s salvation in Israel and throughout the world. Please also join us in praying for the salvation of all other people groups in Israel. We look forward to the day when all of Israel will receive her Messiah.

In His Service,

The Hope for Israel Prayer Team
