Shalom from Jerusalem,
As we marked the festival of Shavuot this year, the contrast could not have been sharper. A holiday meant for harvest songs and the giving of the Torah arrived in a time of war and weariness. Yet still, it arrived because God’s appointed times do not wait for peaceful conditions. They call us to remember, to hope, and to act in faith. In ancient days, our people brought their first fruits to the Temple with trembling hands. This year, we brought ours with trembling hearts, offering not wheat or figs, but prayers, names, and tears.
More than 600 days have passed since so many were taken hostage. Their faces remain before us, their stories etched into the soul of the nation. As we read the Book of Ruth, of famine turned to redemption, of strangers brought into the covenant, we found ourselves again clinging to hope, longing for return. We gathered around God’s Word not out of comfort, but out of conviction. Because to bring first fruits in a time of war is to declare: we still believe.
In every late-night study session, in every whispered prayer, in every act of faith, we chose to believe that peace will come, that justice will prevail, and that the captives will return. This is the story of our people. And this, even now, is our offering.
Prayer requests for Israel
“Swords of Iron” — A War without Borders
As we begin the month of June, the war shows no signs of retreating. “Swords of Iron” is no longer just the name of a military operation; it’s become a daily reality for a nation facing fire on every side.
In Gaza, while Rafah is currently the main focus of the IDF's operations in Gaza due to the remaining Hamas battalions and tunnel infrastructure there, fighting and airstrikes are ongoing in other areas as well. With every tunnel uncovered and every weapon stash exposed, some hidden in schools and hospitals, the depth of Hamas’ entrenchment becomes clearer. The call to “bring them home” echoes louder as hostages remain in captivity, while ceasefire talks stall over Hamas’ refusal to disarm or release those they hold without massive concessions.
Meanwhile, Judea and Samaria simmers. The region is no longer a back page in the conflict, it’s a daily frontline. Raids in Jenin and Tulkarm have become routine as terror cells try to light a fire under Judea and Samaria. The IDF pushes back with resolve, even as international eyes often look elsewhere.
To the north, the skies pulse with threat. Hezbollah has not let up. Families evacuated from border towns have lived in limbo for months. Israel’s airstrikes have targeted Hezbollah positions, ammunition stockpiles, and command centers hidden in civilian neighborhoods, a grim reminder of the enemy’s tactics. The situation teeters on the edge of wider war, and no one here takes quiet mornings for granted.
The Houthis in Yemen, guided and armed by Iran, launch missiles with alarming regularity into the south and center of the country. While many are intercepted by U.S. and Israeli defenses, the message is clear: the war is regional. Every front bleeds into the next.
And looming behind it all is Iran, the engine behind the chaos. Its fingerprints are everywhere: in the weapons smuggled into Gaza, in Hezbollah’s arsenal, the terror funding in Judea and Samaria. Israel watches not just the immediate threats, but the ones coordinating them from afar.
This war is multidimensional and deeply human. And behind every soldier, every mother waiting for a son to come home, every siren and every prayer, there is the same core truth: Israel is fighting not just to survive, but to live. To live freely, securely, and without fear.
And for that, she will not stand down.
Please pray:
- Pray for divine protection over IDF ground forces in Gaza, air and intelligence units in the north, and security personnel in Judea and Samaria. Ask that God shield every soldier standing in harm’s way and frustrate the plans of those who seek to harm them.
Pray for Israel’s military leadership and war cabinet, for unity, discernment, and resolve as they make high-stakes decisions in real time. May they be guided by wisdom from above, balancing operational effectiveness with moral clarity.
Pray for the northern front. Ask God to empower the IDF to neutralize threats without wider regional conflict. - Pray for breakthroughs in hostage negotiations, for supernatural insight, pressure in the right places, and the safe return of every captive. Pray that no deal would strengthen Hamas or prolong terror.
Pray for success in the ongoing Rafah operation and the total dismantling of Hamas' military and governing infrastructure. Ask for God’s justice to be revealed and for evil to be uprooted from Gaza.
Pray for stability in Judea and Samaria, where daily terror activity continues. Ask for protection over Israeli communities and for the IDF to uncover and disrupt every plot before it can be carried out. - Pray for the neutralization of Houthi missile and drone threats, and for God to restrain Iranian aggression in the region. Ask that Israel be shielded from long-range threats and regional entanglements.
- With tensions rising and Iran ramping up its nuclear threats and influence, pray that every plan against Israel’s existence would be brought to nothing. Pray for strength and clarity for Israel’s leaders as they navigate diplomacy, defense, and survival.
Antisemitism Around the World
In May 2025, a series of violent and antisemitic incidents underscored the growing threats faced by Jewish communities worldwide. On May 21, Israeli Embassy staffers Yaron Lischinsky, 30, and Sarah Milgrim, 26, were fatally shot outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., as they left an event. Elias Rodriguez was apprehended at the scene and shouted "Free Palestine" during his arrest. Authorities have charged him with two counts of first-degree murder, describing the attack as a targeted act of terrorism.
Just two days earlier, on May 19, Joseph Neumeyer, a 28-year-old dual U.S.-German citizen, attempted to attack the U.S. Embassy branch office in Tel Aviv. According to federal prosecutors, Neumeyer approached the embassy with a backpack containing Molotov cocktails, spat on a security guard, and fled the scene, leaving the explosives behind. He was later apprehended at a nearby hotel. Social media posts from Neumeyer revealed threats against the embassy and U.S. officials, including President Donald Trump. In the United Kingdom, Jewish students at University College London (UCL) reported experiencing antisemitic harassment, including being told that "Israel killed its own people," referencing conspiracy theories about the October 7 attacks. These incidents contribute to a broader pattern of rising antisemitism on university campuses, prompting discussions in the UK Parliament about the need for stronger measures to protect Jewish students.
These events highlight the urgent need for vigilance and solidarity in combating antisemitism and ensuring the safety of Jewish communities globally.
International Diplomacy and Hypocrisy
In recent weeks, international pressure on Israel has intensified. The European Union announced a review of its Association Agreement with Israel, citing concerns about the situation in Gaza. Spain has called for sanctions, including an arms embargo, while France and Belgium have voiced strong criticism of Israel’s military operations. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) issued a ruling calling on Israel to halt its operation in Rafah and ensure the flow of humanitarian aid, citing the worsening humanitarian conditions. Meanwhile, the UK has suspended trade talks with Israel and imposed sanctions on individuals allegedly involved in acts of violence in Judea and Samaria. Similar measures are being considered by other Western nations. These developments reflect mounting international scrutiny of Israel's actions during an ongoing war in which it continues to defend its citizens and pursue the dismantling of terrorist infrastructures.
Political Challenges and Division Among the People
This last month, internal tensions in Israel have remained high, as thousands have taken to the streets calling for decisive action to secure the release of hostages who have been held in captivity for over 600 days. These protests reflect not division in loyalty, but deep anguish and love for the hostages and their families. Criticism has mounted over the government’s handling of the war in Gaza and recent leadership decisions, including a controversial attempt to replace Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar. These developments have intensified public discourse about accountability and the best path forward in the fight for Israel’s security and moral strength.
Israel’s reservists have continued to carry a heavy burden on the front lines as they serve courageously while thousands of others refuse to enlist or fulfill their national duty. While many show up with unwavering dedication, a growing number are now refusing to return to duty, raising concerns across the country. Some cite personal or professional strain, while others question the current direction of the war. In response, the IDF has begun issuing fines and even threatening jail time for those who do not report. This growing divide is sparking national debate about fairness, responsibility, and whether the reserve system can continue to function under such pressure.
Despite the emotional strain and public pressure, the people of Israel continue to stand together in remarkable ways. Communities across the nation are mobilizing, supporting displaced families, uplifting soldiers, and surrounding hostage families with unwavering care. In the face of war, pain, and complexity, Israeli society’s strength, resilience, and deep commitment to justice and human dignity remain a powerful light. We continue to believe that unity and perseverance will carry Israel through these difficult days toward victory, healing, and peace.
Please pray:
- Pray for unity among the people of Israel, that despite differences in opinion and growing internal tensions, hearts would be drawn together in compassion, shared purpose, and national strength.
- Pray that voices of division would be silenced, and that leaders and communities alike would choose dialogue, respect, and mutual understanding.
- Pray for protection against rising antisemitism, both in Israel and around the world, and that truth would expose hatred wherever it seeks to take root.
- Pray for global support for Israel, that the international community would stand firmly against antisemitic rhetoric and violence, recognizing Israel’s right to defend its people and secure its future.
- Pray for the safety and courage of Jewish communities worldwide, that they would not fear but stand strong in their identity and connection to Israel.
- Pray for the protection of Jews around the world from violence and antisemitism, that world leaders would impose sanctions to safeguard Jewish citizens in the streets, on university campuses, and beyond.
- Pray that amid pressure and pain, Israel’s civil society would shine brightly, offering an example of resilience, generosity, and unwavering hope.
Return of the Hostages
The people of Israel remain steadfast in their unwavering fight for the release of the hostages, who have now been held captive for over 600 days. Their suffering weighs deeply on every heart, and the families of the captives continue to stand strong, marching, raising their voices, and demanding decisive action from leaders. These families are a powerful force, embodying hope and relentless determination in the pursuit of their loved ones' return.
Negotiations persist amid cautious optimism, with occasional reports of potential breakthroughs. The testimonies of those who have been freed reveal unimaginable horrors, intensifying the urgent call to bring every hostage safely home.
As the days stretch on, our hope remains anchored in faith and resilience that the story of freedom will move from history into the present, and every captive will be restored to their families and return to the land they love.
Please pray:
- Pray for the safe and speedy release of all hostages held in captivity, that God would protect them and strengthen their spirits.
- Pray for comfort, courage, and unwavering hope for the families who continue to wait and advocate for their loved ones.
Pray for wisdom and a breakthrough in negotiations, that all efforts lead to freedom without empowering the enemy. - Pray for healing and restoration for those who have been released, and for strength for those still captive.
- Pray that God’s justice and mercy would prevail, turning captivity into freedom and sorrow into joy.
HFI PRAYER REQUESTS
As our nation confronts renewed fighting and persistent threats on every front, we stand firm in pursuing our vision during this tragic war. We invite you to join us in prayer and support during these challenging times.
MORAN
Moran had a very fruitful trip to Texas at the end of May. He had a handful of important meetings and also spoke numerous times about the situation in Israel & Gaza, giving an important biblical perspective about the conflict as well as answering important (and sometimes tough) questions about the war.
This month, he will continue to be busy in the field, providing support for families who are trying to rebuild their lives; visiting injured soldiers & providing support for their families; and delivering aid to anyone who is in need. He also continues to oversee the ministry’s Israel advocacy & information project, as it remains crucial for people to receive reliable information out of Israel.
This month will mark a significant shift in the Jerusalem office as two of our employees begin maternity leave. As we are already understaffed, please pray for wisdom & discernment for Moran as he seeks creative solutions in restructuring.
Please continue to pray for:
- Pray for wisdom regarding the various aspects of the ministry that he oversees.
- Pray for strength & wisdom as he provides support for friends & families who have lost their loved ones in the war.

Believing Soldiers
In the past month, we have reached out personally to believing soldiers, investing time in phone conversations with them. Some even called us during moments of crisis seeking support and encouragement, sharing that these calls have uplifted them greatly. He was genuinely surprised that we’re here for him in these practical matters too, offering guidance and support. He deeply appreciated it and expressed heartfelt thanks for the care and support, thanks to you, that we can provide.
Please pray:
- Pray for a breakthrough and renewed awakening in the discharged believing soldiers' department.
- Pray for spiritual direction and personal guidance for the department coordinator.
Student Testimonies
During the training workshops for students, we supported a student who was going through an especially challenging period. Throughout the year, she struggled with academic difficulties and failed several exams, which led her to consider quitting her degree. We maintained close contact with her throughout, dedicating time to deep conversations and personal guidance. In our meetings, we emphasized that she was not alone and that experiences of hardship and crisis are common in the academic journey. We connected her with a group of other students facing similar challenges, and the open dialogue with them greatly strengthened her. She shared that simply realizing she wasn’t the only one in this situation, and being able to talk about it with others, brought her a sense of relief and encouragement.
By the end of the process, she said she understood that although it can sometimes be easier to give up, it’s precisely in difficult moments that it’s important not to surrender but to stay committed and face challenges with courage.
Thanks to your support and prayers, we can continue providing this vital guidance and encouragement to students in need.
Please pray:
- Pray for emotional strength for the students during this challenging time.
- Pray for wisdom and guidance for the mentoring team to know what to say and how to encourage the students in the difficult moments they are experiencing.
- Pray for peace and resilience for the students, that they may have the ability to face and overcome their challenges.
