August has arrived in Israel, and with it the height of the summer vacation. Schools are closed, children are enjoying their break, and many families are trying to spend time together before the new school year begins.

Yet for many Israelis, life is still far from normal. Thousands of reservists remain away from their families, communities near the borders are still living with uncertainty, and after nearly three years of war, many Israelis have learned that even the simplest plans can change within moments. A call to reserve duty, a missile attack, or another security escalation can quickly interrupt what was meant to be an ordinary day.

Even in the midst of these challenges, we continue to witness God's faithfulness. At Hope for Israel, we are grateful for the privilege of serving wherever the needs are greatest, strengthening believing soldiers, investing in the next generation, restoring communities affected by the war, and sharing biblical truth about Israel with believers around the world.

As the High Holy Days approach, we are also beginning preparations for Operation Hesed, our annual Rosh Hashanah initiative. Once again, we will have the privilege of blessing hundreds of vulnerable Israeli families with grocery vouchers and practical assistance as they prepare to celebrate the High Holy Days.

Thank you for your continued prayers and partnership. We invite you to pray with us for the people of Israel, for wisdom for our leaders, protection for those serving our country, and for every opportunity God gives us to be a blessing and reflect His love throughout this land.

PRAYER REQUESTS FOR ISRAEL

OPERATION LION’S ROAR

As Israel continues facing security threats on multiple fronts, the situation throughout the region remains highly complex. Along the northern border, Israeli forces are operating to prevent Hezbollah from rebuilding its military capabilities in southern Lebanon, while reports of attempted ceasefire violations remind us that the threat has not disappeared.

In Gaza, Israeli forces are operating against Hamas while preventing the terrorist organization from rebuilding its military capabilities. In Judea and Samaria, security forces remain highly active as they uncover terrorist infrastructure, prevent attacks, and respond to ongoing security threats.

Beyond Israel's borders, Iran continues expanding its military capabilities and supporting proxy terrorist organizations throughout the region, reminding us that the challenges facing Israel extend far beyond a single front.

Please pray:

For God's protection over the people of Israel as security threats remain on multiple fronts.
For wisdom, protection, and strength for Israel's soldiers, reservists, police officers, and security personnel as they defend the people and the Land of Israel.
For comfort for grieving families, healing for those who have been wounded physically, emotionally, and spiritually, and encouragement for everyone carrying the burdens of war.
For Israel's political and military leaders, that God would grant them wisdom, discernment, unity, and courage as they make difficult decisions affecting the nation's security and future.
That every attempt by Hamas, Hezbollah, Palestinian terrorist organizations, Iran, and their proxies to rebuild military capabilities or carry out attacks would be exposed and prevented, bringing greater security to the people of Israel and the region.
For lasting peace and stability throughout the region, and for Israeli, Lebanese, Iranian, and uninvolved Palestinian civilians who continue living under the shadow of conflict.

DIVISION AMONG THE ISRAELI PEOPLE

As Israel prepares for the upcoming national elections, political discussions continue to intensify throughout the country. At the same time, many Israelis remain deeply affected by prolonged reserve duty, economic pressures, and nearly three years of war. Together, these realities continue placing significant strain on Israeli society.

The months ahead will bring important decisions for the country. More than ever, Israel needs wise leadership, unity among its people, and the ability to face the many challenges that lie ahead.

Please pray:

For wisdom, integrity, and discernment for Israel's leaders as they make decisions affecting the nation's future.
For unity among the people of Israel despite political differences and the many pressures facing the nation.
For families carrying the burdens of reserve duty, financial pressures, and the lasting effects of war, that they would experience God's strength, encouragement, and hope.
For the upcoming election process, that it would be conducted with integrity and that those elected would govern with wisdom and a genuine desire to serve the good of the nation.

ANTISEMITISM WORLDWIDE

Around the world, many Jewish people are increasingly finding themselves having to think twice before openly expressing their identity. Wearing a Star of David, a kippah, displaying a mezuzah, speaking Hebrew, or publicly supporting Israel has, in some places, become enough to attract hostility or intimidation. This growing reality affects not only personal security but also the freedom to live openly and without fear.

Please pray:

For Jewish communities around the world to experience safety, courage, and encouragement as they face growing antisemitism.
For families raising children in this environment, that they would have wisdom, peace, and confidence.
For those who feel isolated or afraid, that they would find comfort, strength, and supportive communities.
For governments, educational institutions, and societies to stand firmly against antisemitism, confront it wherever it appears, and refuse to allow hatred of the Jewish people to become accepted or normalized.

HFI PRAYER REQUESTS

Each day the Lord opens new doors for us to serve the people of Israel in practical and meaningful ways. As the High Holy Days approach, we are preparing Operation Hesed ahead of Rosh Hashanah while continuing our discipleship, humanitarian, restoration, advocacy, and media ministries. We trust the Lord to provide the wisdom, strength, and resources needed for every opportunity He places before us.

Please pray:

That God would continue giving us wisdom to recognize where the greatest needs exist and the courage to respond faithfully.
For wisdom and provision as we prepare Operation Hesed, enabling us to bless hundreds of vulnerable Israeli families during Rosh Hashanah.
For open doors to demonstrate God's love through practical acts of service to individuals, families, and communities throughout Israel.
For protection, unity, wisdom, and good health for every member of the Hope for Israel team as we serve across our many ministry areas.
That everything we do would honor the Lord and point people to Him.

MORAN

This month, Moran will be in Israel spending time in the office with a reduced staff, as two senior managers are on leave. He and the team are actively preparing Operation Hesed ahead of Rosh Hashanah as the High Holy Days approach in September.

August tends to be a quieter month for the ministry, as many families are traveling and young people are participating in summer camps throughout the country. At the same time, it presents its own challenges as families balance work, ministry, summer vacation, and the many responsibilities that come with children being home from school.

At the end of the month, Moran will travel to Texas to meet with ministry partners, teach, and share firsthand updates about Israel. Please pray for safe travels, good health, and a fruitful ministry trip. For details regarding his speaking engagements, please email us at [email protected].

Moran writes important updates on the situation in Israel twice each week, along with the weekly Word from Moran Scripture commentary. He also actively advocates for Israel through Facebook, Instagram, and Threads. This ministry has become increasingly important as many people, including believers, are confused about Israel and what God's Word teaches concerning His plans and purposes for Israel. As he continues speaking biblical truth, the opposition he encounters continues to grow. We would be grateful for your prayers for wisdom, discernment, and protection.

Strength and protection during this challenging season of ongoing conflict.
Travel mercies, both in the air and on the ground.
Protection over Moran's family while he is traveling abroad.

NerYah - Believing Youth Group

Please pray:

For our youth during the summer months, that God would protect them spiritually, emotionally, and physically amid the growing violence and unhealthy influences affecting many young people throughout Israel.
For our summer activities, that they would strengthen relationships, deepen faith, and encourage every young person who participates.
For those graduating from NerYah as they begin military service or pre-military preparatory programs, that they would remain steadfast in their faith and become a light wherever God leads them.
For wisdom as we prepare for the coming ministry year, and that God would provide the right male and female coordinators to help disciple the next generation.

Believing Soldiers

Please pray:

For believing soldiers serving throughout Israel, that God would protect them physically, emotionally, and spiritually wherever they are stationed.
That their faith would remain steadfast and that they would experience God's peace, strength, and presence each day.
For reservists and their families as they continue carrying the burdens of prolonged military service.
That God would continue opening doors for Hope for Israel to encourage, support, and minister to believing soldiers throughout the country.

Believing University Students/Discharged Soldiers

Please pray:

For students as they complete exams and assignments, that God would give them wisdom, peace, and confidence.
For students during the summer break, that it would be a season of rest, encouragement, and spiritual growth.
For wisdom as we plan the Growing Together student ministry for the coming year.
For recently discharged soldiers as they begin the next season of life, seeking God's direction regarding careers, university studies, and future service. Pray that He would grant them wisdom, discernment, and confidence as they follow His leading.

MEDIA MINISTRY

As misinformation and confusion surrounding Israel continue to grow, we are seeing increasing opportunities to help believers around the world better understand what is happening through accurate reporting and a perspective rooted in Scripture. Through our articles, videos, social media, and other media projects, we seek to communicate truth with integrity, encouraging people to look beyond the headlines and understand both the realities of life in Israel and God's ongoing work in this land.

Please pray:

For wisdom, discernment, and creativity as our media ministry produces content that informs, encourages, and equips believers around the world.
For God's guidance as we respond with grace, truth, and wisdom to misinformation and growing hostility toward Israel.
That God would raise up more believers who are willing to stand for biblical truth and become effective voices for Israel within their churches, communities, and spheres of influence.
For the right person to join our media ministry and strengthen our ability to communicate effectively across multiple platforms.
For spiritual protection over everyone serving in the media ministry and their families.
For the successful development and launch of our new website, that it would serve as an effective tool for ministry in the years ahead.

MINISTRY FINANCES

We remain deeply grateful for God's faithful provision. Through the generosity of His people, we have been able to serve believing soldiers, invest in the next generation, support communities affected by the war, expand our media ministry, and respond to new needs as they arise.

As the ministry continues to grow, so do the opportunities and responsibilities before us. We remain committed to being faithful stewards of every resource God provides and trust Him to continue supplying everything needed for the work He has called us to do.

For God's continued provision to sustain both our daily ministry and long-term projects.
For wisdom as we faithfully steward every financial resource entrusted to us.
For new ministry partners who share our heart for Israel and desire to invest in the work God is doing through Hope for Israel.

COMMUNITY RESTORATION INITIATIVE

Hope for Israel continues standing alongside communities affected by the war as they rebuild their lives. Through Operation Restoration and Operation Doors of Hope, we continue helping families and communities take meaningful steps toward recovery. As more families gradually return home and new neighborhoods are being established in southern Israel, we are reminded that restoration is not only about rebuilding buildings, but also about restoring lives, hope, and communities.

Together, these initiatives represent the largest restoration projects in the history of Hope for Israel and reflect our desire to bring lasting hope through practical action.

Please pray:

For God's provision as we continue moving Operation Restoration and Operation Doors of Hope forward.
For wisdom as we work alongside local leaders, families, and communities during every stage of the restoration process.
As more families return home and new neighborhoods are established in southern Israel, pray that they would experience renewed hope, healing, and encouragement physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
For protection, strength, and wisdom for everyone involved in planning, logistics, counseling, construction, and every aspect of these restoration projects.

Tours

Our tours continue to play an important role in the ministry of Hope for Israel. They provide opportunities for people to experience the land of the Bible, meet the people of Israel, and gain a deeper understanding of God's Word, His promises, and the people and land of Israel, while also helping strengthen Hope for Israel's ability to serve the people of Israel.

Please pray:

For wisdom as we prepare for our Israel Solidarity Tour (December 10–21, 2026) and our Experience Israel Tour (April 7–18, 2027).
That both tours would be filled with participants eager to deepen their understanding of God's Word, His promises, and the people and land of Israel.
For additional churches, groups, and individuals considering traveling with us, and that the tour ministry would continue growing as an effective tool for discipleship while strengthening Hope for Israel's ability to serve the people of Israel.

Thank you for faithfully standing with the people of Israel through your prayers and partnership. Your encouragement strengthens the work God has entrusted to us and reminds us that we are not serving alone. Together, we continue praying for the peace of Jerusalem, for the people of Israel, and for God's purposes to be accomplished throughout this land.
