Pray with Us! – April 2025

Image
Shalom from Jerusalem,

As we prepare for Passover, the festival of redemption, we are reminded of the Israelites’ exodus from Egypt—a journey from slavery to freedom. This year, that story feels especially poignant. We are still at war, still waiting for the release of the captives, and still praying for the return of peace to our land. Yet, just as God delivered His people then, we trust that He will bring redemption once more—freedom for the captives, comfort for the mourning, and healing for our nation.

April is also a month of remembrance in Israel, when the nation pauses to honor those who have suffered for simply being Jewish and those who have fallen in defense of our homeland.

On Holocaust Remembrance Day, we remember the six million Jewish lives lost in the Holocaust. With antisemitism rising across the world, the urgency to preserve their memory and stand against hatred has never been greater. The few remaining survivors among us carry the weight of history—and their voices need to continue to be heard.

One week later, on Memorial Day for Fallen Soldiers and Victims of Terrorism, our nation unites in grief, remembering those who have given their lives to protect the nation and those murdered in acts of terror. This year, the sorrow is deeper. We mourn those who were murdered on October 7, 2023, and we continue to pray for the safe return of those who remain in captivity. As the war persists, and with no true pause for reflection, many bereaved families have not yet had the opportunity to grieve fully or find solace. Their sorrow remains immediate, and the collective anguish of our people endures.

Even in the midst of pain, we turn to the God of Israel, who promises: “As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.” – Isaiah 66:13

Pray He guards His people, brings peace to Israel, and leads us all into true and lasting redemption.

Please pray for:

  • Protection of all those travelling before and during the holiday.
  • Safety of families as they gather together to commemorate Passover.
  • The people of Israel to see Yeshua as the ultimate Passover Lamb as promised in the Scriptures.
  • A meaningful holiday despite ongoing challenges.
  • Comfort for the bereaved families who have lost their loved ones in Israel’s ongoing conflict, including those tragically affected by the events of October 7th and subsequent attacks.

Prayer requests for Israel

“Swords of Iron” — A Multidimensional War

The war continues across multiple fronts, testing the endurance of Israel’s military and civilians alike. From Gaza to Lebanon and Judea and Samaria to the digital battlefield, Israel is navigating one of the most complex conflicts in its history. Security forces remain on high alert as terrorist attacks continue to target civilians and soldiers across the country, with ongoing attempts to infiltrate Israel and carry out attacks.

Northern Front

The northern border, long a zone of hostility, has recently become even more volatile, intensifying the ongoing challenges Israel faces in the region as exchanges of fire between Hezbollah and the IDF have resumed.

The situation has reignited fears of a broader conflict, with displaced residents hesitant to return and local leaders expressing frustration over the lack of long-term security. Despite ongoing efforts to prevent full-scale war, the threat from Hezbollah remains active, and the northern front continues to be a source of serious concern.

Gaza Front

Israel re-entered Gaza due to Hamas's failure to release the hostages. Despite ongoing negotiations and international pressure, Hamas refused to fulfill the agreements for the hostages' release, prompting Israeli forces to intensify their operations in Gaza. The IDF has been targeting key Hamas operatives and infrastructure, aiming to disrupt the group's military capabilities and bring an end to their hold over the hostages.

Meanwhile, humanitarian aid efforts are being expanded, with Israel working to ensure critical supplies reach civilians while preventing resources from falling into the hands of terrorists.

Judea and Samaria

The situation in Judea and Samaria remains highly unstable, with the IDF intensifying its counterterrorism operations in response to increasing violence. Dozens of terrorists have been arrested, and significant quantities of weapons, including explosives and drones, have been seized in operations across Judea and Samaria. Despite these efforts, incitement and calls for violence continue to fuel unrest, particularly during Ramadan. The region remains on edge, with the potential for further escalation as tensions persist between Israeli forces and terrorist groups operating in the area.

Yemen Front

The Houthis in Yemen continue to pose a growing threat to regional stability. Backed by Iran, the terror group has launched repeated missile and drone attacks targeting Israel and international shipping routes in the Red Sea.

While most threats have been intercepted by Israeli and allied defense systems, the risk of escalation remains. These attacks are part of Iran’s broader effort to encircle Israel with hostile proxies and stretch its defenses across multiple fronts.

In addition to the physical threats, the sound of sirens and the constant alert status take a psychological toll on civilians, creating anxiety and stress, particularly among those already vulnerable. Israel remains alert to the evolving threat and is coordinating closely with international partners to safeguard both national and global security interests in the region.

Please pray:

  • Pray for wisdom for Israel’s leaders and military as they navigate ongoing threats on multiple fronts, especially the escalating tensions along the northern border with Hezbollah, and for their efforts to secure communities across Israel from potential attacks.
  • Pray for the safe return of hostages still held by Hamas in Gaza, that Israel's operations would succeed in bringing them home, and that God would protect those in captivity, offering them peace and strength.
  • Pray for Israel’s reservists and their families that they would have strength and protection as they are called up for additional rounds of service due to the renewed fighting.
  • Pray for the protection of Israel’s soldiers as they engage in counterterrorism operations in Gaza and Judea and Samaria, that they would be shielded from harm and empowered to dismantle terror networks.
  • Pray for the IDF to be successful in the military efforts in Gaza. For Hamas to be removed in order for true restoration to begin in Gaza.
  • Pray for peace and stability in Judea and Samaria, that the ongoing violence and incitement would cease, and that Israel’s security forces would be successful in preventing attacks and protecting innocent lives.

Antisemitism Around the World

Antisemitic incidents continued to rise in March. The normalization of antisemitism in public discourse, academia, and cultural spaces is a troubling reminder that this ancient hatred remains deeply embedded worldwide.  Rabbi Arié Engelberg, the chief rabbi of Orléans, France, was violently attacked while walking with his young son in what authorities have labeled an antisemitic hate crime. The assault, which left him hospitalized with a head injury and a bite wound, underscores the growing vulnerability of Jewish communities in Europe. French President Emmanuel Macron condemned the attack, vowing that France would not remain silent in the face of rising antisemitism. With incidents like these on the rise, we must speak out and support efforts to ensure the safety and dignity of Jewish communities everywhere

International Diplomacy and Hypocrisy

Israel continues to face diplomatic challenges, with international bodies and NGOs issuing harsh criticisms that ignore the brutality of Hamas and other terror organizations.

While some allies remain firmly supportive, others pressure Israel to halt operations without offering viable alternatives for security or justice. These double standards are not only unjust—they embolden terrorists and endanger civilians.

Please pray:

  • Pray for the global Jewish community as antisemitic incidents continue to rise, that they would find strength, unity, and protection against the growing tide of hate. Pray for God’s intervention to change hearts and minds around the world.
  • Pray for the leaders of nations to speak out against antisemitism and take active steps to combat it, promoting understanding, tolerance, and justice in their countries.
  • Pray for Israel’s diplomats as they navigate increasing international criticism and double standards, that they would have wisdom and courage in defending Israel’s right to self-defense and justice for its people.
  • Pray for justice and clarity in international discussions about the conflict, that the brutality of Hamas and other terror organizations would be fully acknowledged, and that global powers would act with integrity and fairness.
  • Pray for those who advocate for Israel in international forums, that they would receive God’s favor and find effective ways to combat hypocrisy and ensure Israel's security is upheld in the global arena.
Political Challenges and Division Among the People

The internal divide within Israeli society is deepening. Daily protests are taking place across the country, with thousands demanding urgent action to secure the release of the hostages. Emotions are raw, and frustration is growing.

Public criticism of government decisions has intensified, with calls for accountability over leadership choices—including the recent dismissal of the head of the Shin Bet and disputes involving the Attorney General. The war has not only brought the nation together in pain and purpose—it has also exposed profound disagreements about the path forward.

Yet amid the tension, a shared longing for justice, safety, and resolution continues to unite the people. The hope remains that this storm will pass and that unity will prevail once more.

Please pray:

  • Pray for wisdom for Israel’s leaders as they navigate political tensions and decisions regarding security, hostage negotiations, and future governance.
  • Pray for unity within Israel, that despite increasing polarization, the nation would come together in strength and solidarity.
  • Pray for the families of hostages, that they would find comfort and hope, and for the safe return of those held captive.
  • Pray for the continued strength of Israeli civil society, that communities would continue to support one another, standing together in solidarity with soldiers and displaced families.
Return of the Hostages

Though no hostages were released this month, their plight remains at the forefront of our national consciousness. Families of the captives continue to march, speak out, and demand action from leaders.

Negotiations are ongoing, with reports of potential breakthroughs. The testimonies of freed hostages continue to reveal the horrors endured—and fuel the urgency to bring every soul home. They too are calling for the release of the hostages as time is running out.

As we approach Passover, we hold tight to the hope that the story of freedom will be more than ancient history—it will be a modern-day miracle for those still in captivity.

Please pray:

  • Pray for the safe and immediate release of all hostages, that negotiations would lead to breakthroughs and bring every captive home.
  • Pray for the families of the hostages, that they would continue to find strength and hope as they advocate for their loved ones and press for action from leaders.
  • Pray for the testimonies of freed hostages, that their stories would inspire urgent action and bring about the release of those still held captive.
  • Pray for a modern-day miracle of freedom this Passover, that the story of liberation would become a reality for those in captivity, and that God would grant peace and comfort to their families.

THREEFOLD VISION FOR EMPOWERING THE FUTURE GENERATION OF BELIEVERS

NerYah Youth Group

During the Purim holiday break, we had the privilege of hosting a meaningful and enjoyable activity for the youth. It was truly a blessed time, marked by the growth and maturity of the teenagers as they worked together to successfully complete all the tasks and challenges. We are grateful to God for the enthusiastic participation of the youth in the NerYah meetings, especially the leadership shown by our 12th-grade students in guiding the activities.

We also thank God for the NerYah counseling team, whose collaboration during the Purim event helped foster a strong sense of unity and communication among us all. The experience not only brought us closer together but also deepened our ability to work and communicate with one another in a spirit of respect and understanding.

Please pray:

  • Please pray for our upcoming Passover trip in April—that it will be a meaningful and enriching experience for everyone involved.
  • Pray for the youth as they navigate their exam period and driving lessons, that they will find success and peace during this time.

Believing Soldiers

This month, several soldiers were discharged and shared with us how much the Believing Soldiers group helped and encouraged them during their military service. Their words deeply moved us, and we are truly grateful to God for the positive impact this group has had on their lives

Please pray:

  • Please pray for wisdom in how to continue encouraging and supporting the believing soldiers, and for strength to be there for them, providing the right responses to their needs.
  • Pray for more volunteers who share our vision and are willing to join us in serving the believing soldiers.
  • Please pray for the mental and spiritual well-being of the believing soldiers during this challenging time as they serve the nation.

Discharged Believing Soldiers

A soldier, who is about to be discharged from military service, reached out to us for guidance. We arranged a counseling session to help her organize the necessary steps for enrolling in studies. We provided support, explained where to begin, and made sure she had everything she needed for the process. The soldier expressed sincere gratitude and shared that the meeting helped her regain clarity, as she had been feeling confused beforehand.

Please pray:

  • Please pray for success in the support and guidance we provide to those who reach out to us after their discharge.
  • Pray for spiritual direction and personal guidance for all the male and female believing soldiers who are transitioning out of military service.
  • Pray for inspiration and motivation as they embark on their new paths.

Students Group

One of the students in the project shared with us that she had failed most of her exams and was worried that continued failure might result in sanctions, possibly expelling her from the program. She explained that she had gone through a challenging period, making it difficult to keep up with the courses, and it left her feeling hopeless. We spoke with her, encouraged her, and prayed together with her on the morning of her exam. Afterward, she took the exam and scored an impressive 97. The student expressed her deep gratitude for the support she received, emphasizing that the high score renewed her hope in God and gave her the strength to keep believing in herself, especially after the difficult circumstances she had faced.

Please pray:

  • Please pray for the student leadership team—pray for success and strength as they continue to support the students.
  • Pray for inspiration and the ability to lead change in the lives of the students.
  • Pray for the students to be motivated and equipped to face challenges with perseverance.
OPERATION HESSED PROJECT

This Passover, as families prepare for the holiday, many in Israel face deep hardship—not only from financial struggles but also from the devastating impact of war. Families who have lost loved ones, those displaced from their homes, and soldiers on the front lines are carrying unimaginable burdens. Through Operation Hessed, we will provide grocery vouchers to bereaved families, single-parent households, lone believing soldiers, and others in need—ensuring they can celebrate with dignity, hope, and the knowledge that they are not alone.

Please pray for:

  • Strength and wisdom for our coordinator – that they would have clarity, focus, and perseverance to manage this vital initiative effectively, from organizing logistics to distributing vouchers where they are most needed.
  • Families to be blessed by this project – That those receiving support—whether bereaved families, single-parent households, or lone believing soldiers—would feel not only practical relief but also deep encouragement and a reminder of God’s faithfulness.
  • A spirit of generosity – That hearts would be moved to give, allowing us to extend God’s love to even more families in need, bringing hope and provision during this difficult time.

Due to the ongoing security situation, all our groups except for two, have either canceled or rescheduled for 2026, leaving the tour operation without any income for the foreseeable future. We are still hosting the Israel Solidarity Tour in June 2025 – registration is open! Please continue to pray for:

Please pray:
