“Comfort, O comfort My people,” says your God.” Isaiah 40:1
“Protective Edge”, Israel’s military campaign against Hamas terrorists in Gaza, enters its second week. Hamas has relentlessly and defiantly pummeled Israel with over 1,300 rockets in the past two weeks. Rockets have reached as far north as Haifa this time, and millions of Israeli citizens are under fire. Israel simply cannot accept this provocation and attempt to murder its citizens.
Many Israelis are stuck in bomb shelters indefinitely, and cannot go to work. Children who were looking forward to summer camps are instead confined to shelters with their families, wondering when the next air raid siren will sound. Many people are without hope in this frightening time. Therefore, we appeal to you to stand with us as we help to comfort these people in their time of need.
Hope for Israel continues its Operation Restoration ministry to be there for those who are suffering and have been harmed by this recent war. The needs continue to mount, and no one knows exactly how long this will last.
We have already evacuated over 190 people from the area bordering Gaza, and have provided essentials for over 2,600 people throughout the country. Here’s what one grateful woman wrote to us:
These last weeks were difficult and tense. As always, in times like these, we discover the greatness of the Jewish nation. Earlier, at the beginning of the current operation, with no big words or eye-popping advertisement and credits in the media, we received word about the possibility of going away from our home which became a war zone. Coming last Thursday, we received the confirmation, we were all (community of Nir-Am) invited to stay at Jerusalem and Kibbutz Kalia . We left together as a family, as a community and what a relief, the soundtrack of a war movie turned into a normal urban soundtrack. The community of Nir-Am would like to thank you Hope For Israel. Words cannot express our gratitude!
More people living in communities bordering Gaza need to be evacuated, and there are more essentials needed to help others in need. We are continuing to raise funds for food, temporary shelter, basic needs, and transportation to help those affected.
Would you help us to bring God’s comfort to those who are in need in the Land? Please invest with us now, and know that your gifts will be used effectively, efficiently, and entirely to help those in Israel who are being harmed by this war.
Thank you for your financial support and please keep praying!
