Operation Restoration

Operation Restoration – Northern Israel

Thank you for standing with us in our war response effort, Operation Restoration.

This past week, because of your support, we helped elderly residents and a families with children who have special needs step out of immediate danger and into a place of safety. These are dire situations. In many cases, people simply cannot move fast enough when a siren sounds, or when there is no warning at all.

In northern Israel, life right now is measured in minutes. On average, an air-raid siren sounds every 32 minutes. At times, there is no warning. Drones and rockets begin to fall without notice, leaving only seconds to respond.

For the elderly, those seconds are often not enough. For families with children who require additional care, the challenge is even greater. Gathering everyone, moving quickly, and finding protection is not always possible. This is not a one-time situation. This is our daily reality during war.

In recent days, we received a significant increase in requests from some of the hardest-hit communities in the north. The messages were simple and direct. People are living under constant threat, with repeated alerts and very limited time to reach shelter. In certain areas, there are no protected spaces within immediate reach. For some, remaining at home is no longer a safe option.

As these requests continued to come in, we stepped in and launched Operation Restoration. Not long after, I received a letter from the mayor of one of these communities.

He wrote on behalf of his residents, expressing deep gratitude, but also describing the reality they are facing. At one point, he wrote, “Providing these families with a place to stay is not just help. It is what allows them to step out of danger, even for a short time, and regain the strength to continue.” He went on to explain that knowing someone sees their situation and chooses to act has strengthened both the personal and communal resilience of his city.

We are now seeing this firsthand. So far, we have brought close to 100 families from immediate danger and into a place of safety. At the same time, requests continue to come in every day.

This is where you come in. The need is immediate, and the solution is clear. Providing a safe place for a family to stay on a full-board basis, including meals, costs approximately $1,750 for several nights. This is not about comfort. It is about removing people from immediate danger.

$5,250 will bring three families to safety.
$3,500 will protect two families.
$1,750 will rescue one family from daily danger.

Every single gift moves someone out of risk and into safety.

What has already been made possible through your support is clear. The question now is whether we can continue to meet the growing need.

Thank you for standing with us in a way that truly makes a difference!

Israeli Communities Under Attack

Communities in southern Israel suffered a barrage of over 400 rockets in a few days. Homes & businesses have been damaged, dozens of Israeli civilians have been injured - some have died - and people in communities near the Israel/Gaza border were confined to bomb shelters. They suffered intense terror, and many of the children are exhibiting signs of post-traumatic stress.

Hope for Israel has initiated our Emergency Relief Fund, “Operation Restoration,” to give a specific community a time of rest and renewal after suffering an intense round of attacks. One young woman from the community wrote about her experience:

"All day long I've been feeling strangely… overwhelmed by the two terrible days we've been through, not understanding how we can simply go on with the routine, as if we have not just experienced such an intense trauma.

The first barrage caught me outside while I was walking my baby girl. It's impossible to describe what goes through a mother's head when she knows she has no way of protecting her baby. Because in 10 seconds (which was all we had before the first rocket hit) we had no chance of reaching a protected space."

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

Partner with us in both prayer and action!

  • PRAY – Please continue to pray for protection over Israel's civilians and also for our soldiers who are always ready to bravely defend Israel from terrorism.
  • DO – You can give a donation in any amount that will help us provide this entire community with a necessary time of quiet & rest! We also will help people to rebuild their homes and businesses if they have endured any damage as a result of rocket attacks.
  • SHARE – Spread the word about what's really happening in Israel! Share about this special effort to be a practical source of help and blessing to the Israeli people in their time of need!

We are so grateful for your partnership with Hope for Israel. Together, we can be a great source of His comfort for Israel in her time of need! (Isaiah 40:1)
