Netanyahu to Meet Biden At UN General Assembly

The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) opens its caucus for the 2023-2024 year this week in New York, with speakers including Israeli premier Netanyahu and Iranian president Ibrahim Raisi. The UN is always one of Israel’s toughest battlegrounds, and never more so than now, at the climax of the lengthy judicial reform controversy. Iran seeks to widen its diplomatic sphere of influence and will likely use the UN forum to pursue this agenda.

Also scheduled to take place at the UN is an informal meeting between Netanyahu and US President Biden. Although Israeli prime ministers are traditionally invited to the White House upon their election, this will be the first meeting between the two heads-of-state since Netanyahu took office. This is one symptom of an ongoing diplomatic coolness between Israel and the US, largely over the controversial judicial reform.

Please pray for a fruitful meeting between Netanyahu and Biden. Please pray for new and firm support for Israel during the coming year at the UN. Lastly, please continue to pray for wisdom for Israeli and Western leaders in countering Iranian aggression.
