Israel At War – Day 5

Operation “Swords of Iron continued into day 5 on Wednesday, with the IDF fighting on three fronts. On the Gaza border, troops are amassing to enter Gaza while the Israeli Air Force continues to strike the Strip. On the Lebanese front, there have been multiple successful infiltrations. Just as concerning, Wednesday evening several unspecified aircraft crossed from Lebanon into Israel, triggering air raid sirens across the northern part of the country. The Israeli Air Force has struck various sites in southern Lebanon.

In Judea and Samaria, Israeli security forces are working around the clock to stop terror attacks before they happen. However, one terrorist shot and injured an Israeli in Jerusalem Wednesday afternoon, marking the second terror attack in the area in less than 24 hours.

Hamas continued to fire rockets throughout Wednesday, mainly directed at southern and central Israel. One rocket fell directly on a hospital in southern Israel.

Current estimates say that over 1,200 Israelis have been murdered, over 3,000 injured, and around 200 abducted into Gaza, including women, children and the elderly.

Additionally, PM Netanyahu has reached an agreement with a primary political rival to create an emergency unity government. This will give the government more authority and stability to act during the state of emergency in which Israel finds itself.

Please continue to pray for healing for the injured and for the safe return of captives. Please pray for the families of those who were killed or who are missing. Please continue to pray for protection over Israel’s security forces and civilians. Finally, please pray for stability and unity for Israel’s new government.
