Today, Israel’s High Court is debating the controversial judicial reform law. The Supreme Court convened a full 15-judge session to debate the legality of canceling the “reasonableness clause”, which constricts judicial oversight over government decisions. Netanyahu’s coalition has passed a law to remove the clause, which it says is an affront to democracy. Hundreds of thousands of Israelis disagree, as evidenced by the robust demonstrations over the past six month. This debate has caused much friction and division within Israeli society. Please pray for wisdom for Israel’s leaders as they face this immense decision. This will be a true turning point for Israel either way.
