After nearly 7 weeks of captivity, Hamas is set to release at least 50 hostages: children, mothers and elderly women, beginning tomorrow. In return for the hostages’ safe return home, Israel agreed to a 4-day ceasefire and to release 150 Palestinian security prisoners – also women and minors – who have not been convicted of murder. There is a possibility that the ceasefire would extend longer if more hostages are released.
In the meantime, the IDF continues to operate in northern Gaza to eliminate Hamas’ terrorist infrastructure. On Israel’s border with Lebanon, Hizballah terrorists in Lebanon continue to launch rockets and UAVs towards Israeli territory, while Israel continues to respond to Hizballah’s aggression with air and artillery strikes on terror cells and facilities. Israel also remains on high alert in Eilat and in Judea and Samaria.
In terms of anti-Semitism, Spain’s Prime Minister has just announced his appointee as “Minister of Child and Youth Affairs.” Shockingly, the appointee openly supports Hamas and accuses Israel of genocide. This shows the growing acceptance of anti-Semitism throughout the world. It is also concerning that this minister will have influence over the next generation’s education and belief systems.
Please pray for the safe return of ALL the hostages home and that Hamas respects the ceasefire. Please continue to pray for safety Israeli security forces operating in Gaza and on other fronts. Lastly, please continue to pray against the growth of anti-Semitism internationally!
