Already today there were two attacks against Israelis, one near Jenin where two attackers tried to stab an IDF soldier, one attacker was shot and killed and the other was arrested. Later this afternoon, there was an attack in the city of Rishon Letzion by a young Palestinian from Hebron who stabbed a man on a bus, escaped and stabbed and injured two others before being shot and killed. Two of the victims are moderately to seriously wounded and the third lightly wounded.
These kinds of attacks against civilians, security and military forces have been nonstop for well-over a month now. The tension has subsided in major cities like Jerusalem where the security has tightened so much that attacks are more infrequent. However, stabbing or attempted attacks are still occurring daily, and most times, several times a day mostly in regions like Hebron, Gush Etzion or other cities near Arab villages. The attack in Rishon Letzion is the first in this city since the attacks began in early October.
We pray constantly for a cease to the violence and a solution that can only come from God only to bring peace and salvation to this nation and all of its residents, both Arab and Jewish. We ask God for strength to deal with all of this tragic news, especially for those that it touches personally. We ask for compassion, wisdom and a heart that can find love and forgiveness for those who seek to harm and kill. We pray for the nation of Israel.
