Coalition Deal with Ultra-Orthodox

Netanyahu’s Likud party struck a deal with the ultra-orthodox haredi political party, United Torah Judaism. What this most likely means is that all of the progress made in the last government, when the haredi were not part of the coalition, will be overturned. Particular two issues that were greatly contested by the ultra-orthodox community — the integration of the haredi men into the military and the work force, and also the new conversion law which essentially allows the establishment of private religious courts to process conversions making it easier and more comfortable for those wishing to convert. Now that Netanyahu is inviting the ultra-orthodox parties back into the coalition government, almost certainly these reforms will be reversed. Please continue to cover the coalition building process in your prayers. This will be the government that leads the country into the next four years. Pray for wisdom for the leaders and righteous leadership.
