 למה אנחנו עושים טוב לאנשים אחרים? למה אנחנו מתנהגים כמו שאנחנו מתנהגים? איך חיינו ישתנו מקצה לקצה ואיך נוכל בכלל להתקרב לאדון?משהו חזק כל כך קורה כשאנחנו חוזרים חזרה ליסודות של האמונה שלנו, אם לא נבין מה הן היסודות של האמונה והחיים שלנו לא נשתנה, לא נתרום, לא נתנהג שונה מהעולם ולא נתקרב לאדון. אנחנו חייבים לחזור בחזרה למקור, להתחלה, ליסוד.

 נשאל את השאלה- מה הוא יסוד?

יסוד הוא משהו חזק, משהו בסיסי, חיוני, דבר שבונים עליו, נשענים עליו ודבר שהכל מתחיל ממנו. בהגדרה יסוד הינו תחתית של בניין עליו הבניין נבנה, הראשית, המקור והעיקר שעליו מתבססים דברים אחרים.

 עלינו להכיר את היסוד של האמונה שלנו- עלינו לדעת על מה כל הדברים האחרים בחיינו נבנים. מי הוא היסוד של אמונתנו? מי הוא המקור של הכל? כדי להתחיל לענות על השאלות האלו עלינו לחזור לראשית הדברים- למקורות.

 בראשית א’-ג’- כולנו מכירים את הסיפור הזה מאז היותנו ילדים. אלוהים ברא את השמים, הארץ וכל אשר בם. כחלק מהבריאה הוא ברא את אדם וחווה ונתן להם הנחייה אחת בלבד אותה הם הפרו וחוסר הציות שלהם הוביל למוות. הם גורשו מגן עדן וכל זאת לא לפני שאלוהים נתן להם בגדים, שהיו עשויים מעור חיה כדי שיתכסו. בנקודה הזו של גירוש מגן עדן איננו רואים פרידה של האנושות מגן אלוהים, אלא פרידה של האנושות מאלוהים. אם זאת בנקודה הזו אנחנו גם רואים רמז למה שאלוהים עתיד לעשות בכדי להשיב את האנושות אליו- הוא ישתמש בקורבן.

סיפור הבריאה מופיע גם בספר בראשית וגם בבשורה על פי יוחנן א’:1-5. כבר בהתחלה היה את אלוהים ואיתו היה “הדבר” ואלוהים עצמו היה “הדבר”, והדבר היה אור לבני האדם. אם נסתכל על הפסוקים שמופיעים בספר יוחנן א’ נראה שהם דומים מאוד לפסוקים בספר ישעיה פרק ט’:1-7 שם אנחנו קוראים שמישהו יבוא מאזור הגליל והוא יהיה אור לבני אדם ואותו המישהו הזה יהיה ילד שישב על כיסא דויד והוא יהיה המשיח, הוא יושיע את עמו. “דבר שלח אדוני ביעקב…” (ישעיה ט’:7) “בראשית היה הדבר…” (יוחנן א’:1)

 ישוע הוא הדבר שהוא אלוהים והוא היסוד של אמונתנו.

 זה היסוד הכי בסיסי שעלינו להניח בחיינו. ישוע היה עם האלוהים מבראשית והוא אלוהים עצמו (כמה שעובדה זו קשה לעיכול- זו עובדה!). הוא אור לבני האדם שהולכים בחושך והוא המשיח המיוחל של ישראל, הקורבן בעבור חטאם של האנושות, שישב על כיסא דויד וימלוך לעולם.

Why do we do good to others? Why do we act like we do? How do our lives change from one thing to the next and how can we draw nearer to God? Something so strong accrues when we go back to the foundation of our faith, if we don’t understand what these foundations are, then we will never change, we will not contribute to others, we will not act differently than the world and we will not draw closer to God. We must go back to the source, to the beginning, back to foundation.

We need to ask the question- what is foundation?

Foundation is something solid, basic, something you build upon, and lean on, where things begin. In definition- foundation is the base a building is built on, the beginning, the source and something that everything else is based on.

We must know what is the main foundation of our faith- we need to know on what all the rest of the things in our lives are built. Who is our foundation? Who is the source of all? In order to start answering these questions, let’s go back to the beginning of things- to the foundation of time.

We all know the story of Genesis 1-3 since childhood. God created the heavens and the earth and all that is in them. As a part of creation God created Adam and Eve and gave them one instruction and they did not obey his command, which led to their death. They were thrown out of the Garden of Eden, but before that God made them clothes, which were made of animal skin so that they can cover themselves. In this point we don’t see a separation between humanity and the garden alone, but between humanity and God. We also get an idea of what God is planning to do in order to draw humanity back to him- he is going to use a sacrifice.

The story of creation is found in the book of Genesis and also in the gospel of John chapter 1:1-5. In the beginning there was God and with him was “the Word” and “the Word” was God himself, and “the Word” was light to humanity. If we look closely at the verses found in the gospel of John we will see they are very similar to the verses found in the book of Isaiah chapter 9:1-8. We read that someone will come from the area of Galilee and he will be a light to humanity and that someone will be a child, and he will sit of the throne of David, meaning he will be messiah, and he will save his people. “The Lord sent a word into Jacob…” (Isa. 9:8) “In the beginning was the word…” (John 1:1)

Yeshua is the word and he is God himself, the foundation of our faith.

He is the most basic foundation and on this foundation we lay down our lives. Yeshua was with God from the beginning and he is God himself, as hard as it is to comprehend, this is the truth. He is light to all people walking in darkness. He is the Messiah of Israel, a sacrifice for the sins of humanity, and he is seated on the throne of David ruling forever.
