Dear Friends,

Thank you for your generous gift. Recently, I had the opportunity to visit Kibbutz Nahal Oz once again. Every time I enter the kibbutz, I cannot help but remember what I witnessed in the aftermath of October 7. The destruction, the smell that lingered in the air, and the sights will stay with me for the rest of my life.

This visit, however, was different. For the first time, I found myself focusing not only on what had been destroyed, but also on what is being rebuilt. Homes are being restored. Families are gradually returning. An entirely new neighborhood is taking shape. Seeing construction instead of destruction affected me far more than I expected.

One of the purposes of my visit was to inspect the progress of the Doors of Hope project. As I walked through the kibbutz and visited homes where the reinforced security doors have already been installed, I was reminded why we started this project in the first place. As I looked at each of those doors, I could not help but think about the families who will soon be sleeping behind them.

Following my visit, I received a letter from the Director of Infrastructure and Construction of Kibbutz Nahal Oz. I would like to share a few of his words with you because they express the significance of this project better than I could.

"This project is changing reality. The reinforced security doors provide families returning to their homes not only with an additional layer of protection, but also with a genuine sense of security. They offer the reassurance that there is once again one place in the home where they can truly feel safe. That sense of security cannot be measured in financial terms, yet it is essential for rebuilding lives and making it possible for families to come home." He also wrote: "Your generosity has turned hope into action. Because of you, families, children, women, and men in Nahal Oz are returning to their homes knowing that they are safer than they were before."

Reading those words meant a great deal to me because they came from someone who lives this reality every day. They are a reminder of what the Doors of Hope project is accomplishing for the families of Kibbutz Nahal Oz. I only wish each of you could have seen the homes being restored, the new neighborhood taking shape, and the reinforced doors already installed. Thank you for making this possible.
