On Saturday an earthquake of a magnitude of 7.9 hit the region of India and Nepal. A strong earthquake aftershock struck on Sunday, shaking buildings in New Delhi and triggering an avalanche in the Himalayas. At least 5,000 people were injured in Nepal as a result and the number killed is still rising, yet more than 1,300 have already been reported. Israel is sending a rescue team of around 240 soldiers and officers to Nepal to be of assistance to the many Israelis stranded in Nepal, 250 Israelis designated ‘out of reach’. Please pray for the people of Nepal who are facing great losses to their families and homes. Pray also for the rescue team and the hundreds of Israelis that are lost or injured in Nepal.
