The holiday of Sukkot is referred to as “the time of our joy” and this year in particular the whole country came together to rejoice during Sukkot. On October 18th nearly every Israeli had the TV on – employers even brought TVs to work so that employees could watch together – to get the first glimpse of captive IDF soldier Gilad Schalit who had been held in captivity for over five years by Hamas.
