UPDATE: UN Votes to Recognize Palestinian “Nakhba Day”

As a follow-up to yesterday’s prayer point, the UN has voted 90-30 with 47 abstentions in favor of the resolution to recognize the Palestinian Nakhba (disaster) Day. This is truly despicable, and as the Israeli Ambassador to the UN said, does nothing to further peace. It will only encourage more discord and widen the divide between Israeli Jews and Israeli Palestinians. The irony of this resolution, which comes exactly 75 years and 1 day after the UN Resolution to approve the two-state solution in 1948, is infuriating. Shamefully, one of the co-sponsors for this resolution was Saudi Arabia, one of Israel’s new peace partners in the Abraham Accords! Cyprus, an island neighbor of Israel whose tourism industry is largely powered by Israelis, also voted in favor of the resolution. Please continue to pray about the inquiry at the Hague (see yesterday’s prayer point). Please prayer for an exposure of hypocrisy at the UN. Lastly, please continue to pray for protection over Israel in the face of international condemnation.
