Two Cases of Nigerian Strain in Israel

Israeli health officials have detected a few isolated cases of new foreign strains of coronavirus in Israel. Reportedly, two cases of the B1.525 Nigerian variant of COVID-19 have been located. However, the chain of infection was cut and those infected were prevented from having contact with anyone else. There is concern that the Brazilian variant is also in Israel, but no one from the Ministry of Health has confirmed its presence. Israel has seen a sharp decline in seriously ill patients since it began a vigorous vaccination campaign in January. It is still unknown how well the Pfizer vaccine protects against the variants, so Israelis are urged to stay vigilant. Please continue to pray for Israel in our efforts to emerge from the pandemic. Please also pray for wisdom for members of Israel’s government as they continue to make tough decisions in these times. Lastly, please pray for a continued decline in serious ill patients from COVID-19.
