Dear partner,
Shalom! On July 8th, Israel began “Operation Protective Edge”, in response to the increasing attacks from the Hamas terror organization on Israel and her citizens. In twenty-nine days, Hamas fired 3,360 rockets into Israel with one goal in mind: to kill and hurt as many Israelis as possible. In addition to the rockets, Hamas also made a few attempts to attack Israeli communities, as well as to kidnap and kill IDF soldiers through underground tunnels that came from Gaza into Israel.
Once the operation started, we at Hope for Israel launched our war response project, called “Operation Restoration”. A great light shined in the darkness and God created a huge miracle through Hope for Israel; this was one of our largest projects we’ve undertaken in over a decade of ministry! Within a few days, we evacuated over 200 people, many of whom were children, to safe shelters far away from the war zone. Throughout the entire operation, we helped anywhere between 120 to 350 people! They were so grateful; below is a note that one of them wrote to us:
“These last weeks were difficult and tense. As always, in times like these, we discover the greatness of the Jewish nation. Earlier, at the beginning of the current operation, with no big words or eye-popping advertisement and credits in the media, we received word about the possibility of going away from our home, which became a war zone. We received the confirmation that we were all (community of Nir-Am) invited to stay at Jerusalem and Kibbutz Kalia . We left together as a family, as a community and what a relief, the soundtrack of a war movie turned into a normal urban soundtrack. The community of Nir-Am would like to thank you Hope For Israel. Words cannot express our gratitude!” Ilit Paz
On top of that, we were also able to help over 5,000 IDF soldiers with care packages during the operation. Once again, the responses were amazing and many called to express how thankful they were.
I would like to personally thank all of our partners for the support and prayers to Hope for Israel so that we can be a light to so many people here in Israel during the war. Your faithful and generous help enabled us to bless and encourage an entire community in their time of distress. We could not have done any of this without you.
Thank you for partnering with us in this work. May the Lord bless you!
