The Ethiopian Jewish holiday of Sigd (pronounced sig-ed) begins today, November 4th. This special holiday includes prayers of thanks for God giving the Torah to the children of Israel, and prayers for all those who have not been able to make “aliyah” (immigrate to Israel). Please join us in praying for a blessed holiday for all celebrating! Please also pray for all the Jewish men, women, and children in Ethiopia who dream of immigrating to Israel, but for various reasons, have not realized that dream. Lastly, please pray that the Ethiopian community in Israel will thrive and continue to be a vital part of the fabric of Israel.
