Today, Jewish people all over the world celebrate the feast of Shavuot (Pentecost). Traditionally, we believe God gave the Torah to Moses at Sinai on this day. As believers, we also know that the Holy Spirit was given to the disciples on Shavuot as recorded in the book of Acts. In Israel, this has become a holiday in which we celebrate the harvest from the previous year. We gather together for festive meals centered around dairy – blintzes, cheesecake, quiche, and the likes. This year, sadly, Israelis celebrate under the shadow of war. Please pray for a quiet and peaceful holiday. Please also pray that our celebrations will be full of joy despite the sorrow. Lastly, please pray that all of Israel will recognize our Messiah and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit!
