Schools to Open Sept. 1 at Half Capacity

Education Minister Yoav Galant revealed his plan for reopening schools on September 1 under the coronavirus restrictions. Children in kindergarten through second grade will attend school in person with little changes to their usual schedule, while children in third grade and up will meet in small groups of no more than 18 twice a week, and will study remotely the remaining days. This will require the country to hire new teaching staff, during a time when there is already a shortage of teachers in Israel. This also means an increase in money to accommodate new hires. Please continue to pray for wisdom for Israel’s leaders as they search for solutions to the current pandemic. Please also pray for the children of Israel as they navigate difficult times without much routine.
