Today (Thursday) an IDF veteran who served in Israel’s Operation Protective Edge succumbed to wounds inflicted after he self-immoliated in front of a government office. His tragic action was one of protest against the government’s denial to give him status as a disabled vet. This man was the second to die in this way in recent years.

Another incident occurred in Northern Israel earlier this year in which a veteran, whose request for disabled status was denied, doused a government office with gasoline and attempted to burn it down.

Government authorities have tried to tackle the problem in recent years as it has gained more attention; however, needless to say, there is a long way to go.

Please pray for healing for the man’s family in the wake of this tragedy. Please pray for action on this issue to prevent more scenarios such as this one.
