Various Israeli news outlets have reported that embattled former PM Netanyahu is working on a plea deal with Attorney General Mandelblit. While there is not much hope that a deal can be reached before Mandelblit retires in a week, there is concern within the Israeli public that Netanyahu will not be held accountable for his alleged crimes. The public is overwhelmingly against a plea deal, and many feel that it could erode Israelis’ trust in the justice system, which is already quite low.
