A recent study conducted in Israel determined that the Pfizer vaccine loses its efficacy over time. The study found that the vaccine’s ability to prevent infection drops to 39%. It is still effective in preventing hospitalization and seriously ill cases. Israel is currently in its fourth wave of infections due to the highly contagious Delta variant. In the current wave, a larger number of fully-vaccinated people have been infected than was expected. Still, the unvaccinated part of the population has been found to be at higher risk of serious illness and death from COVID. Please continue to pray for Israel as we battle this fourth wave of infection. Please also pray for wisdom for Israeli officials as they consider another lockdown during the High Holy Days in September. Lastly, please pray for full recovery for all who are sick with COVID.
