Our Operation Hesed project for Passover 2020 was different than previous years due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Israel has been in lockdown since mid-March, and over 1 million people (about 11% of Israel’s population) are unemployed as a result. The economy is severely stressed, and people are struggling to pay for essentials. We knew that we would need to expand this outreach in faith, and God has graciously provided for this! For the first stage of the project, we purchased and distributed essential groceries to families in Jerusalem just before the Passover holiday. This was a HUGE blessing to so many families who otherwise would not have been able to put food on the table. Moreover, we were blessed to provide other essentials such as diapers, wipes, and formula to families with babies and young children. We are privileged to come alongside families who have fallen on hard times, and share with them the HOPE we have in the Lord!
