After numerous delays, Prime Minister Netanyahu will appear in court on February 8th. The court postponed the hearing due to the current nationwide lockdown, according to which only urgent proceedings should still go ahead. This means that the presentation of evidence and hearing of witnesses will also be postponed.The trial will begin a mere six weeks before Israel’s general elections on March 23rd. Polls show that Netanyahu’s party, Likud, will perform well in the upcoming elections. However, the premier’s trial could potentially damage his party’s chance of maintaining power in the coming Knesset. Please continue to pray for Israel in these precarious times.
